About North Tampa Periodontics & Implant Dentistry

North Tampa Periodontics & Implant Dentistry operates on Ehrlich Road in Tampa, Florida. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is North Tampa Periodontics & Implant Dentistry located in Tampa?

North Tampa Periodontics & Implant Dentistry is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does North Tampa Periodontics & Implant Dentistry offer?
Listed services at North Tampa Periodontics & Implant Dentistry include Gum Disease Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
What are the early signs of gum disease?
Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing, redness and puffiness along the gumline, and persistent bad breath are the usual first indicators. Bleeding is the one most often dismissed, and it is the clearest early warning.
Why do my gums bleed even though I brush twice a day?
Bleeding usually reflects where you are cleaning rather than how often. Plaque left along the gumline and between teeth causes inflammation there, which is exactly the area brushing alone tends to miss, so flossing or interdental brushes matter.
What happens during a routine dental examination?
The dentist checks the teeth for decay, examines the gums, looks at any existing fillings and crowns, and screens the soft tissues. X-rays are taken when there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth.

Dr. Sausha is always amazing to work with and takes him time explaining the treatment plan options. Also Jackie is the best for the deep cleanings - I have VERY sensitive teeth & she provides numbing agents and uses warm water which makes it so much more comfortable and tolerable! Great office, can’t recommend them enough!

I had a gum graft procedure with Dr. Johnson at North Tampa Periodontics yesterday, and I couldn't be more grateful for the outstanding care I received. Dr. Johnson was professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire procedure. What impressed me the most was his genuine dedication to his patients. After the office had already closed, I experienced significant bleeding and called for help. Even though the office was closed, Dr. Johnson waited for me to return and personally treated me to stop the bleeding. His compassion, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond for his patients gave me tremendous peace of mind. I also want to recognize the wonderful front desk staffs, especially Debbie, Shelby, and dental assistants, especially Martha. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful from the moment I arrived. Their friendliness and professionalism made the entire experience much less stressful. I truly appreciate the exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism show by everyone at North Tampa Periodontics. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and his team to anyone in need of periodontal care. Thank you all for taking such great care of me!

He demonstrated and helped me to manage the site going forward and supplied me with cleaning tool and mouthwash. An excellent experience by a very competent Periodontist who put me at ease, explained a great deal about my gums, and was so very knowledgable about his craft. I would highly recommend Dr. Toghranegara to anyone who has and issue with their gums. He as well as his staff are top notch.
