About North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery

North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery operates on West Bell Road in the Deer Valley area of Phoenix, Arizona. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery located in Phoenix?

What days is North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery open?
North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery offer?
Listed services at North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery include Wisdom Teeth Removal. The full list is shown on this page.
What age is best to have wisdom teeth taken out?
Late teens to early twenties is often easier, because the roots are less fully formed and bone is more forgiving, so healing tends to be quicker. Removal is still routinely done later when there is a reason for it.
How long is recovery after wisdom tooth removal?
Most of the swelling and discomfort settles within about a week, with the first two or three days the most noticeable. Surgical removal of an impacted tooth generally takes longer to recover from than a simple extraction.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

I have absolutely loved working with North Valley Center for Oral and Implant Surgery!! Dr. Johnson is absolutely amazing and extremely talented. I am a repeat client as I originally had came to get my wisdom teeth out (which was a great experience) and then I am now returning to start the implant process for a different tooth. Front desk is super sweet and welcoming. Dental assistants are also very kind and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Johnson is very knowledgeable in what he does, and made me feel 100% confident in my decision making process when moving forward with implants. I highly recommend this office!! 10/10 5 stars all around!

Staff are helpfull and have a very friendly approach. Dr. Johnson was not your typical dentist. He made me feel welcome, enjoyed a little chit chat before he proceeded with medical questions. I feel very confident he will do a great job when surgical day comes around.
