About Northeast Children's Dentistry

Northeast Children's Dentistry provides dental care on Village Drive in the San Antonio International Airport Vicinity area of San Antonio, Texas. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. One of the best dentist offices in San Antonio. HANDS DOWN!!! The dental staff here has been taking care of our children since we had our first born ( we are on our 5th😅😅). For over 10 years we've been coming here and I can’t tell you how much we love it. Their bedside manner is impeccable and it always feels like we are talking to friends and family when we arrive….I wouldn’t trust my kids at any other office in town…a great place to go…

This location is by far the best! ALL the staff is so friendly and helpful. I recommend it 100%. I love Dr. Fox, she is so good with the kids. There service is fast but also not rushed, which is great when you take more than 1 kiddo.

My son had to get his front tooth pulled and Dr. Pina made it so easy and calming for the both of us. She sang songs to him while doing it and my son barely cried. The nurses on staff were so great and gave my son a popsicle when it was all done with! Thank you so much for making a stressful procedure quick and easy for us ❤️ Dr. Pina and her staff truly made our day

We absolutely love Dr. Peña and the whole team at North East Pediatric Dentistry! She is incredibly patient, kind, and gentle, especially with our kiddo who tends to be a little nervous at the dentist. Dr. Peña takes the time to explain everything in a way that both we and our children can understand, and she always shows them how to care for their teeth in a way that’s encouraging and fun. It’s clear she truly cares about her patients. We feel so lucky to have found her and can’t recommend her enough!

The receptionist is warm, sweet, and always makes me feel validated as a new mom. I genuinely enjoy every interaction with her. The rest of the staff is pleasant, though at times I feel some of the recommendations made by the dentists may not be necessary, though others might appreciate them.

Love Dr. Pina! She's so good with kids and babies, and really knows her stuff. We've had regular checkups, some maintenance, and a laser lip/tongue tie procedure. Everything has always been so easy and went smoothly, don't see myself taking my kids anywhere else! Even my older daughter that has already hated the dentist loves going there. She was like wow, they're so much better than the others we've been too. The fact that none of us get stressed out going in is everything! The rest of the staff is amazing as well!
