About NYC Oral Surgery Associates PC.

NYC Oral Surgery Associates PC. operates on 82nd Street in Queens, New York. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. I went for a consultation and honestly, I don't recommend it. It's a terrible place. Starting with the staff who greet you when you arrive, they're not professional at all. I don't usually go to these places, but I really wouldn't want anyone to have such a bad experience. This place is useless, and even the doctor can't guide you. Well, that's just my opinion, and it's nothing personal. I regret going to this place.

I had an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The surgeon explained everything clearly, and my procedure and recovery went much more smoothly than I expected.

This surgeon office is very professional, clean, and most of all, has very kind people. From the moment I made the phone call to schedule a consultation to get wisdom teeth removed, I felt the kindness of the people working here. The ladies at the front, the nurses taking the X-rays, and the surgeons Dr. Antonio Del Valle and Dr. Shahin Shahgoli make you feel welcomed. I was nervous getting my wisdom teeth removed, but I researched surgeons and found the positive reviews for this office. I’m so glad I came here because not only did Dr. Del Valle (who did my surgery) answer all my questions, but the surgery itself was so quick and painless (and I only had local anesthesia since I didn’t want to do IV sedation!). I had no swelling and barely any pain the following days after surgery. If you need to get wisdom teeth removed, I definitely recommend this office! Thank you to everyone here!

I hope this place continues maintaining such excellent standards in its processes. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and I’m extremely nervous. I can’t even fully explain how much, but I’d say 500%. In the days leading up to it, all I did was read other people’s reviews, looking for some kind of comfort, and in the end, my experience turned out just like many of the ones described here. Personally, I didn’t have any pain, and my face didn’t even swell. It’s actually funny to think that what many people said here about the anesthesia was true, they gave me anesthesia, and I don’t even know when I fell asleep. When I woke up, everything was already done. I honestly thought I had just fallen asleep and that they hadn’t even started yet. One of the assistants, I didn’t catch her name, but she has short hair, tall and wears glasses was an angel to me. She was so kind and human from the moment she called me into the room until she handed me over to my companion.

I had a great experience with my wisdom teeth removal surgery here. It was my first time ever getting anesthesia and the surgery was over before I realized it even began. Dr. Del Valle was super kind as well as the nurses. The reception was helpful with my follow-ups and answering questions about my insurance. Thanks for a great experience!
