About Ocean Dental

Ocean Dental provides dental care on Northeast 23rd Street in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. What is the difference between holistic and cosmetic dentistry?
They overlap but are not the same thing. Cosmetic dentistry is about appearance specifically, while holistic dentistry is a broader philosophy about material choice and treating the mouth as connected to overall health, which can apply to any treatment including cosmetic work.
Is biological or holistic dentistry more expensive?
It can be, since ceramic and composite materials and more conservative techniques sometimes cost more than the cheapest alternative. Pricing varies by practice, so it is worth asking directly rather than assuming.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

I just left there. Great dental office especially after they got rid of that other female dentist. They did a better than great job on my front teeth which started to brown from weed oil going straight to them using my crystal pipe. Now they're back to white and pretty. Thank y'all.

This dentist is absolutely the rudest dentist I’ve ever encountered. I canceled all future appointments for my children and myself. Absolutely do not recommend. Office staff and dental assistant was amazing!

This quality of this dental office has really went down unfortunately! Our most recent visit the dental assistant was cold and all around just not good with my kids. She sprayed my child's face with water and didn't apologize or offer something for her to wipe and my daughter even mentioned how this made her feel when we were done. They didn't do a thorough exam and the dentist didn't even acknowledge or speak to me. Absolutely no manners. The office looked dirty and dull. Would not recommend this office.

Absolutely the worst dentist experience I’ve ever had. It was a few months ago. I don’t leave reviews but this has been eating at me and I will be contacting insurance company and corporate because my teeth were not cleaned. THIS LADY RUBBED MY TEETH WITH A PAPER TOWEL. I showed up when the placed open at 8 for my 8am appointment. I wasn’t seen for 45 minutes then sat in the chair. I was frustrated and asked if this was normal. The front desk lady said someone was sick. When I got in the chair, I heard my cleaner talking about me needing to get out of her chair bc I had said something about the wait I guess. The lady dentist was super unprofessional and disrespectful as well. She talked about a 10 year old issue with a tooth. Anyways, I cancelled my wife’s appointment. The place is also disgusting. Batteries in clocks unchanged. Dusty. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY TO THIS LOCATION. Brushed my teeth with a paper towel. lol wth

My 6 year old son has overcrowding in his mouth. 2 teeth had started growing in and none of his baby teeth had fallen out. So he was growing a second row of teeth. His dentist was so encouraging and calm. After his cleaning he had 3 teeth pulled out. My son told me to give the dentist 5 stars. The entire experience was pleasant. The office staff was friendly, smiling and attentive. The assistant who gave us his aftercare instructions, she didn't miss a beat. My 9 yr old daughter also had a routine cleaning and it was the best ever. I certainly recommend this Ocean Dental location to everyone! We will definitely go there again.
