About Oliver Family Dental Clinic Edmonton

Oliver Family Dental Clinic is at 11403, 104 Avenue Northwest in Edmonton's Oliver neighbourhood — one of Edmonton's most densely populated inner-city neighbourhoods, just west of downtown on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan River valley. Oliver is characterised by its high-rise residential towers, walkable street grid, and the diverse urban population of young professionals, established residents, and the healthcare and government sector workforce from the nearby Royal Alexandra Hospital, Kingsway Mall, and downtown Edmonton employment centres.

Walk-in appointments are listed as an explicit patient access option alongside the standard appointment booking model — a meaningful distinction in Edmonton's inner-city dental market. The Oliver neighbourhood demographic includes a significant proportion of residents who work irregular shifts, newly arrived Edmontonians establishing care for the first time, and young urban professionals whose schedules make advance appointment planning difficult. A 104 Avenue Northwest practice that accommodates walk-in appointments provides a dental care access model adapted to this urban patient population's life patterns.

Orthodontics alongside Invisalign covers the alignment correction options for the Oliver neighbourhood's young professional demographic. Endodontics in-house covers root canal treatment without specialist referral. Gum disease treatment and periodontal care provide the soft tissue management depth for the adult urban patient population. Crown and bridge restorations alongside implants cover the prosthetic tooth replacement range.

Children's dentistry alongside family dental care makes this 104 Avenue Northwest practice accessible to the young families who live in Oliver's residential towers and the surrounding west-central Edmonton communities. Wisdom tooth removal is handled in-house. Tooth decay treatment, veneers, and teeth whitening complete the restorative and cosmetic scope.

For Oliver neighbourhood, downtown Edmonton, and west-central Edmonton patients on 104 Avenue Northwest who want a family dental practice with walk-in appointments, orthodontics, Invisalign, endodontics, and implants in Edmonton's most densely populated inner-city neighbourhood, Oliver Family Dental Clinic's 11403 104 Avenue Northwest address provides that combination.

Went in for my first cleaning in years and had a wonderful time. The doctor and hygienist answered all my questions, and were very kind and non judgemental when I shared my history. Gave me confidence to improve my oral health care routine.

I had broken my tooth during class and required immediate attention. I called here and they were able to see me within a few hours. When I got there, the place was very clean, and the vibes were great. I will definitely return because I've been searching for a dentist that offers a certain level of professionalism and familiarity. The work they did was some of the best i have gotten, and that's rare with so many dentist offices that only see you as a number. It didn't feel that way here.

Dear Clinic Manager, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the treatment we received at your clinic on the day of our appointment. We had scheduled appointments for three patients. Two appointments were at 3:00 PM, and the third appointment was scheduled for 3:30 PM. We arrived at the clinic at 3:05 PM. Upon arrival, the front desk staff member canceled all of our appointments without providing a clear or valid reason. She did this without checking the schedule properly, even though the third patient’s appointment was clearly set for 3:30 PM. In addition to this, the manner in which we were treated was very rude and unprofessional. We were not spoken to respectfully, nor were we given an opportunity to explain or discuss the situation. We understand the importance of punctuality, but canceling all appointments—especially one that had not yet reached its scheduled time—without explanation or courtesy is unacceptable. I hope this matter can be reviewed seriously, and that steps will be taken to ensure patients are treated with professionalism and respect in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Do not recommend booking an appointment here unless you want to pay to be traumatized and then gaslit and victimized by the staff afterwards. I went to this clinic to get 4 fillings on a Saturday afternoon. Once I got there, the dentist told me I was the last patient of the day and asked me if they could do the fillings without local anesthesia as it would be quicker and it ‘wouldn’t hurt that bad’. I was not told the degree of pain it would cause or what my options were - basically uninformed consent and was coerced to say ok so that the doctor could go home early. Then, it was the worst pain I’ve ever had in my entire life, my toes were curling and I was visibly in pain. The doctor kept telling me ‘not too much longer’ as clearly they could tell I was in pain but wanted to leave early. I then said multiple times that it hurt really bad, and again, I was told ‘it’s almost done’ or ‘one more tooth’. This was completely traumatizing and I never wanted to go to a dentist again. Unfortunately, months later, I was getting sensitive and pain in the same 4 teeth, which made me worried to think the fillings likely weren’t even done correctly. I avoided going back as I was traumatized and anxious of being in pain again. A year later, my teeth pain on those same 4 filling got bad enough that I made an appointment and asked to have the fillings checked to make sure they were done correctly. I would have never gone back but I don’t have much for insurance coverage so I didn’t want to have to pay twice to have the same 4 teeth filled and assumed they would not charge me to check if the original fillings were correct. When I emailed the dental office, I was scolded for not coming in sooner and was told I would have to pay for the full examination again. I then explained how I did not receive any local anesthesia and the pain caused immense emotional and physical trauma that it took me a while to be able to book another appointment. Instead of an apology, I was then victimized over email as I was told ‘it’s up to you to say if something is painful when it’s happening’, completely dismissing the fact that I did say I was in pain multiple times and that it was dismissed. the staff Ashlee Laitinen then said: “if you were so unhappy with the work done here you should have called about these issues before now”, clearly demonstrating they have no empathy, did not apologize for the incident, and have no understanding of trauma. Would you tell a sexual assault victim that if they really got assaulted, they should’ve said something earlier???? Completely unprofessional and morally wrong of the staff to say this, not offer any apology, and to victimize a patient for trauma they caused.
