About Oral Facial Surgical Arts

Based on Clear Vista Street in the Lake Whippoorwill area of Orlando, Florida, Oral Facial Surgical Arts is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.

Bone grafting rebuilds jaw bone that has shrunk after a tooth has been missing for a while, most often as preparation for a dental implant that needs sufficient volume to anchor into. Healing generally takes several months before further treatment can proceed.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. How long is recovery after wisdom tooth removal?
Most of the swelling and discomfort settles within about a week, with the first two or three days the most noticeable. Surgical removal of an impacted tooth generally takes longer to recover from than a simple extraction.
What age is best to have wisdom teeth taken out?
Late teens to early twenties is often easier, because the roots are less fully formed and bone is more forgiving, so healing tends to be quicker. Removal is still routinely done later when there is a reason for it.
What procedures count as oral surgery?
Surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, bone grafting, and corrective jaw procedures are the common ones. The distinction from routine treatment is generally that tissue is opened and closed rather than simply treated.

Staff was great! Went in for a wisdom tooth extraction consult and they were able to get me in same day! Took 15 min total for the whole consult and extraction. Also very sterilized and clean inside.

I would highly recommend Oral Facial Surgical Arts to anyone needing tooth work done! They were quick, effective, and caring when I had an extraction done. I have bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist, but they made me feel relaxed and well taken care of.

I had a very positive experience at Oral Facial Surgical Arts. The service was excellent, and the staff was extremely kind, professional, and communicative throughout my visit. The doctor was very honest and gave me the freedom to decide whether or not to follow his recommendation, which I truly appreciated. He prescribed the medication I needed, and they also provided me with a copy of my X-rays for my records. I highly recommend them — 100%.

Staff was awesome, doctor fantastic and my son is special needs and doctor explained what will happen. Can’t ask for better group but just have to wait for insurance approval before extraction. My son is a great kid and he said he liked the doctor a lot.

I have visited this office twice with my husband. In my experience, the doctor is very good, knowledgeable in his work. I like how he explains things, and he is very kind. We were referred by our dentist, and the experience has been very positive. The staff, in general, is friendly, but if you ask many questions, they don't always have the best attitude. The wait times are reasonable; we have always been attended to at the scheduled time.
