About Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery

Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery is a dental practice on East Mitchell Hammock Road in Oviedo, Florida. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.

Bone grafting rebuilds jaw bone that has shrunk after a tooth has been missing for a while, most often as preparation for a dental implant that needs sufficient volume to anchor into. Healing generally takes several months before further treatment can proceed.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery located in Oviedo?

What days is Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery open?
Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery offer?
Listed services at Orlando Oral and Facial Surgery include Dental Implants, Wisdom Teeth Removal, Oral Surgery and Bone Grafting. The full list is shown on this page.
Do dental implants hurt?
Placement is done under local anaesthetic, and most people compare the discomfort afterward to an extraction rather than something worse. Soreness for a few days is normal and usually manageable with standard pain relief.
How long do dental implants last?
The implant itself is designed to be permanent and frequently lasts decades. The crown attached to it is the part more likely to need replacing over time, and implants can still be lost to gum infection if cleaning is neglected.
Why do wisdom teeth cause problems?
They arrive last, often into a jaw with no room left, so they become impacted or come through at an angle. Partly erupted wisdom teeth are also very difficult to clean, which is why they are prone to repeated infection and decay.

Two visits so I can confidently say they are fantastic here. From discussing plans to service. I have a chronic illness that they understood and even impressed my dentist. Lisa specifically had her hands full in getting my paperwork and scans. She was wonderful!!

Had 6 teeth extracted today including all four wisdom teeth and two molars. The team made the whole process smooth from start to finish. The sedation was easy — I went under fast and woke up with everything already done. Staff was professional, the office was clean, and the post-op instructions were clear and detailed. Highly recommend if you need oral surgery in Orlando. Best dental surgeons in Orlando.

The vibe here is great. Welcoming, friendly and professional. Everyone is super nice and happy. My broken molar extraction under local anesthesia was quick and painless. I can’t say enough nice things. The tech that was assisting the Dr. was reassuring and stood next to me and petted my shoulder. So sweet! 10/10. A+. Thank you all.

Excellent service. I mistakenly went to this location instead of the Winterpark one, which was my appointment. But the very kind receptionist made the change, and they were able to see me today. The doctor and his assistant were very pleasant and explained everything about my procedure in detail.

Went for the first time ever and I cannot stress enough how wonderful everyone at this establishment was. Sarah was at the front desk and helped me correct an error I had with my Insuraance and she did it so patiently and kindly. IMargie, was also a very kind individual who welcomed me with a smile and positive energy to the establishment. Made me feel welcomed while checking my vitals and was having a great converastion with me. Briana was also very nice as she helped me make a second appointment with them very quickly and even worked well with the times I have her. Dr True explained all the options very clearly and concise. All in all, everyone I encounterd at this establishment was incredible. I definitely recommend them!
