About Owl Orthodontics
Owl Orthodontics is a dental practice on Hopkins Road in Williamsville, New York. Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Polite and professional staff with several locations they are able to offer some flexibility.
My daughter got her braces off, and the results are amazing! We couldn’t be happier with her beautiful smile. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and supportive throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!
Good orthodontics experience, usually accommodating and time effiencent. However lacks privacy...you can see every patient from the waiting room, you can hear everyone's personal business when they go to check out. So as long as you do not care about privacy, they are a great place for Ortho care.
As a teenage girl I have been to many orthodontists that said I need some of my teeth removed for me to get a perfect smile. I thought my hopes were over until I met Owl Orthodontics. My past Orthodontists made me cry during appointments because of the pain however, Owl Orthodontists did everything very gently I had less pain, fast results, and everyone working there is very positive unlike my previous experiences. With Owl Orthodontics I have finally achieved a perfect smile and even better results then I had imagined. Thank you very much for your service. I hope this review helps newer customers to give Owl Orthodontics a try!
If I could give Dr. Walla and the Owl Orthodontics Team 6 out of 5 stars, I would. I cannot thank you them enough. I had a long, complicated case; my treatment is finally complete now and I had to share my experience in case it could be helpful. For me, feeling assured that I was receiving the best dental care available was paramount because of my complicated case. I had an invisalign/braces combo because of a cross bite. A fragile tooth that was weak from bone loss, so any movement that occurred was causing worry. Dr. Walla and his team exceeded my expectations time and time again. Going above and beyond for me so many times. He is an outstanding Orthodontist, the level of attention/care that he provides and the concern that he has for his patients is second to none. I've witnessed how engaged he is with other patients and their issues. I can't say enough good things about Owl Orthodontics and how much of an impact they have made in my life. Dr. Walla stuck it out with me through the entire long-winded process which was more than I expected. My teeth look amazing now and I am so appreciative to him and his incredible team. Thank you!!!!
I was referred to this dental scam by a dentist to straighten my teeth, so I thought they were reputable. I had a "consultation" in a very nice back office with lots of smiling staff. Walla stated braces could not help me and I needed jaw surgies AND THEN braces. Walla needed to consult with my primary and sleep medicine doctors, make molds, etc and I need to "put down $500." I did so. Then for 6 months I had to endure disrespect before I realized it was a "not a valid business model," I went to a better dental office, got ONLY braces (that were much cheaper), and my teeth are now fixed. Highlights: *Walla told to me as part of the consultation I had go to a specific surgeon, twice, and pay out of pocket. I was told this guy is the only maxiofacial surgeon in Buffalo (he is not). Surgeon told me I needed THREE jaw surgeries, and then braces, but would not tell me why braces would not work alone. *Zoom appointment with Walla where he did not show up. *Walla misunderstanding a dozen times thinking I wanted surgeries to "get me off CPAP machine" instead of listening when I said that I only wanted my teeth aligned. *Walla "conviently misrepresenting the truth" saying my sleep medicine provider stated I needed the surgeries. The provider later told me "I told him your sleep apnea is fine, you dont need surgeries, and you just need your teeth aligned." *Walla delaying and delaying and delaying and needing more information and more calls with my doctors and then FINALLY stating I NEEDED all these treatments because braces alone will not help, and it will cost $8000, plus copay for surgeries, and jaw being wired shut for months (twice). * For 6 months refusing to explain why braces alone would not work, as I asked repeatedly. ...good luck...
