About Parker Family Dental

Parker Family Dental is a dental practice on Parkglenn Way in the Parker North area of Parker, Colorado. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns.

Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically. I’ve been going to Dr Peterson Sr for over 20 years. His son taking over the practice has the same excellent work ethic and patient care. Highly recommended.

I’ve been a patient for more that 20 years, and have been treated by Dr. Mike Peterson and Dr. Grant. They are both wonderful dentists and I trust them completely. Over time, I have had implants, extractions, urgent matters and regular care and I can say that I’ve always felt welcome, valued and cared for. I can recommend Parker Family Dental without any hesitation. The staff, front and back are excellent, kind and I’ve always been able to schedule appointments quickly. The assistants and hygienist’s are gentle and knowledgeable.

I've used Parker Family Dental for the last few years after switching from Comfort Dental, which has tons of locations in greater Denver. This practice is personable and they do good work. You do get the sense that they actually care about your health and comfort. I like the fact that I can book appointments months in advance, something I couldn't do and one of the reasons I decided to switch from Comfort Dental. My experience has been 100% positive, which is hard to do for a dentist - because they're doing something that is inherently uncomfortable. They've got a good blend of technology and chairside manner. If you're looking for a good, local, independent dentist, I'd recommend these guys.

Parker Family Dental has been a part of my family for 30+ years and they've always taken great care of us (even in an emergency). Highly recommended for families and friends alike. You'll feel at home working with all of the staff, because they treat you like family.

I had my first appointment with Parker Family Dental. The hygienist was very nice, gentle and thorough! The dentist explained things that had never been explained to me by my other dentist and it was very helpful! I have a cavity under an old crown and I was very happy to know they're able to make their own porcelain crown on-site in one appointment so I won't need a temporary crown, which always seems to break on me before my permanent one is ready. I'm very happy with my results and would recommend this office to anyone looking for a good family dentist.
