About Parkway Prosthodontics

Parkway Prosthodontics provides dental care on Point Meadows Drive in the Deerwood area of Jacksonville, Florida. Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Parkway Prosthodontics located in Jacksonville?
Parkway Prosthodontics is on Point Meadows Drive in the Deerwood area of Jacksonville, Florida (32256).
What days is Parkway Prosthodontics open?
Parkway Prosthodontics is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Parkway Prosthodontics offer?
Listed services at Parkway Prosthodontics include Dentures. The full list is shown on this page.
How long does it take to get used to new dentures?
Several weeks is typical, and speech and eating usually feel awkward at first. Sore spots in the early stage are common and are adjusted rather than endured — they are not something to put up with.
Can dentures be supported by implants?
Yes, and it is a common solution for a lower denture that will not stay put. Implants anchor the denture so it does not move while eating or speaking, which is the most frequent complaint about conventional lower dentures.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

When I go to have my teeth cleaned my hygienist Rebecca Crews is just so gentle with the procedure. I highly recommend Katie Ryan Prosthodontists. They are the very best.

Just wanted to say that everyone who I came in contact with from the front all the way to the doctor were professional and very friendly. As someone that has high anxiety when it comes to dental procedures, they were accommodating and made sure I was alright throughout the whole process. And they do great work too!

Parkway is the BEST! Even walking in the door you can tell that all of these ladies love what they do. Rebecca did her magic and did a great cleaning on my grill. She’s very quick and quite talented. Dr. Ryan is always on her game for explaining things to you as the patient. This is the best office and staff. Christi does a fantastic job fitting you in for appointments. I really look forward to going to the dentist. Who says that?…me!

I had a veneer break over the weekend. Dr Ryans front desk got me in on Monday. The professionalism and care and concern from front desk to assistant to Dr is outstanding. I would recommend this office for your dental needs. They are top notch. Thank you krysia, Cathy, Taylin, Kaile, Lexi, Dr Ryan and Dr Mularkey you all are amazing and wonderful. Thank you for my wonderful prompt care.

The staff are amazing here! There aren't enough stars to give them! I was referred by my Head and neck oral surgeon. Kathryn Ryan is so amazing and patient. She will be my prosthodontist for as long as she's in business or I don't need to eat anymore. And my implants are beautiful and don't hurt like alot of people said they would. I haven't had teeth for so long, it felt weird having them in for a few days. But they are all good now and I love smiling again.

My initial visit exceeded any expectations. I was caught in traffic beforehand, and was reassured that I would be seen, even though I was likely to be 30 minutes late. I was greeted pleasantly, and my encounter with Lexi began only a few minutes later. Her interview was thorough and patient. She was sensitive to my discomfort during the X-ray process. Becky, the hygienist, checked my gums efficiently, but with respect for my comfort (or lack thereof). Dr. Ryan’s questions to me were thoughtful and reassuring. She listened to my history and concerns patiently; then described the first steps of my treatment plan. I felt comfortable with moving forward, and was pleasantly surprised, that an appointment the next day was available. I’m looking forward to it.
