About Parrys Lane Dental Practice

First of all Parrys Lane Dental Practice - Best Dental Clinic in Bristol would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. This is to provide an update on the Covid-19 situation after the announcement on the daily briefing of the reopening of dentists on Monday 8th June. To clarify, as a practice we found this out the same time as you. We have worked extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure we were ready to see our patients face to face when we were given the go ahead by the relevant authorities. We expected to be given more notice than 10 days and we want to explain how the practice is planning to reopen. Firstly we will be prioritising patients that we have spoken to since we closed who needed emergency advice or antibiotics. If you were one of these patients you will be contacted in the next few days to book an assessment appointment during the week commencing 8th June. Following these assessments and temporary fixing of any obvious dental issues such as broken teeth, we hope to be able to book your definitive treatment from 29th June. Please understand this is a tentative date and depends fully on the government Covid-19 threat level. Secondly we will then bring in patients who are in the middle of their treatment, who have temporary restorations in place and need their definitive treatment to be completed. Following from that we hope to start bringing in routine appointments such as examinations and hygiene appointments. We really appreciate your support and loyalty to the practice and we can’t wait to welcome you back, from a 2m distance of course! Please be aware that we are taking every precaution we are able to to protect you and our staff so if we look a little different when you come in, we’re still the same team, ready to look after your oral health. We will be doing as much as we can on a contactless basis to minimise contact with our reception staff. We will explain the full procedure in your appointment confirmation email or over the telephone the day before your appointment. Once again, we thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon.

I was recommended to Ric Brown by a very good friend whose teeth I have always admired. After a very professional consultation that gave me several good options I opted for composites on the top teeth and Invisalign on the bottom set. The composites were fitted in a 3 hour session with miraculous results and the Invisalign took several months. The treatment has just finished and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Frankly it’s better than a facelift and much cheaper! I have had so so many comments on how natural and fabulous they look. For any 60 something woman who’s never been 100% happy with her teeth I can highly recommend this treatment. I think it takes 10 years off! I would also like to add that Jess the receptionist was so helpful and accommodating, she is a breath of fresh air, also with an amazing smile!

My crown popped off on the bus on my way to work, i called the office and was booked in for a same day appointment in the evening after my shift (on a saturday too), nurse Sadie met me at the door and was incredibly friendly. Dr Zak glued my tooth back on and also flossed away the excess composite, something my other dentist didnt do, which means i can floss properly now. Both Zak and Sadie were friendly, personable, and professional, in addition the premises were spotless which is something I appreciate as a healthcare provider myself. Thank you 👍

I would like to thank the reception staff, my regular Dentist Jane and specialist Periodontist Imogen and assistant Izabella for looking after me. Recently I needed treatment/surgery for gum disease and a receding gum. Their kindness and professionalism made it all worthwhile. My gums are now in a much healthier state.

I would like to share my very disappointing experience with Perry Lane Dental Practice. To begin with, all my dental work prior to coming to Perry Lane had been completed in the UK by qualified specialists, and I have always been covered by a 5-year guarantee on my crown work. I visited this practice hoping for the same level of professionalism, reliability, and care — unfortunately, this was not the case. I originally chose Perry Lane because of the excellent Google reviews and because I had previously experienced difficult situations with other dentists. I believed a 5-star practice would provide a higher standard of care. My treatment related to tooth LL6, which needed a crown. Steve quoted me just over £1,000. However, after the crown was fitted, I developed a severe infection that caused nights of unbearable pain. When I returned for help, Steve’s first suggestion was to remove the tooth entirely — which shocked me, as this was immediately after the work he had just completed. I refused, and instead I was given antibiotics. Over time, I ended up with infections four separate times and had to take antibiotics repeatedly. I repeatedly expressed that the crown felt too high and believed it needed adjusting. Unfortunately, my concerns were ignored, and no one took my suggestions seriously. I then met with Brittany, the clinical manager. I found her communication abrupt, dismissive, and lacking empathy. As a patient from a different cultural background, I also felt that my concerns were not treated with the same respect or understanding as others. While I cannot speak to anyone’s intentions, the interaction left me feeling judged, talked down to, and culturally misunderstood. This made me extremely uncomfortable. Similar abruptness was also experienced with reception staff on multiple occasions. The environment at the practice often felt tense, unwelcoming, and unprofessional — more like being told off at school than receiving healthcare. I had been a patient here for around two years and paid monthly for a plan that included two dental check-ups and two hygienist visits per year. Across those two years, I only received two hygienist appointments instead of four because the practice was consistently fully booked. At one point, my pre-booked hygienist appointment was cancelled because they had no hygienist available. Both hygienist treatments I did receive were extremely poor. I left with stains still on my teeth — something I’ve never experienced before. When I complained, the hygienist suggested I needed a deep clean “because of the stains,” which made no sense since removing stains is part of a normal hygienist appointment. At the follow-up, a dentist tried scraping stains off manually with a metal tool, without considering potential damage to my enamel. I still left with visible staining. Overall, I feel the dental plan was not worth the cost, and the service was uncomfortable, dismissive, and far below expected standards. My experience — especially with repeated infections, poor communication, and feeling culturally unheard — has been extremely disappointing. I cannot recommend this practice based on my experience. Avoid if possible. 🤯😢😢

Been a patient for far too many years to recall, but always had a very happy experience from efficient staff who have always accommodated my various accidents with teeth and dentures and come up with an effective and timely fix. Steve in particular is a very friendly and skilled dentist who has kept my mouth happy for a large number of years. They are a great team.

had such a wonderful experience at this dental practice and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Brittany, the practice manager, was amazing—she helped organise my appointments and was always so informative, professional, and helpful. She really made the whole process easy and stress-free. My dentist, Ric, was fantastic with my Angel Aligner treatment. He explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. Sophia, the dental nurse, was incredibly kind and caring, which really helped put me at ease. The practice itself is spotless, and the whole team is so friendly and welcoming. You truly feel looked after from the moment you walk in. Thank you all for such excellent care!
