About Patterson Dental

Patterson Dental operates on West Ray Road in Chandler, Arizona. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath. You can reach Patterson Dental through this page to ask a question, check current availability, or request an appointment.

I have been a patient of Dr Patterson for about 1 1/2 years. I am happy with his level of expertise and how he recommends the least evasive treatment plans. He keeps the entire dental experience positive. I am excited about all the innovative technologies he uses to diagnose and treat issues.

I truly believe that Dr. Paterson reads this! The receptionist was absolutely terrible. Her name is Trishelly, as she said herself. I had an appointment for 1:30 PM. She called me to confirm my insurance information. I told her I couldn't talk right now because I had an appointment with the doctor, but she kept calling me over and over! I finally just hung up after she called again because it was obvious she didn't want to understand what I was saying. After a while, I filled out the forms they sent to my phone, including the insurance information. Suddenly, I received a text message saying my appointment was canceled. I called to find out the reason and was told the receptionist didn't like the way I spoke to her. Unbelievable! This is the first time in my life that the receptionist, who was so pushy and rude to me from the start, canceled my appointment on behalf of the doctor! In my opinion, making decisions on behalf of a doctor is absolutely wrong, especially if your initial communication with a potential patient was rude and completely inappropriate.

I’ve been going to John Patterson DMD for over five years, and he is easily one of the best dentists I’ve found in the United States. Over the years, I’ve dealt with quite a few dental offices where there’s constant pressure to agree to unnecessary procedures, or where the quality of care just doesn’t match the cost. That experience is what pushed me to specifically look for a dentist who owns and runs their own practice—not a large franchise operation. After doing my research and getting a recommendation from a friend, I decided to give Dr. Patterson a try, and I’m very glad I did. Dr. Patterson is extremely knowledgeable and always focuses on finding the best solution for his patients—not the most expensive one. He takes the time to explain options clearly and makes sure you’re comfortable with the treatment plan. One thing that really stands out about this practice is the technology. Many dental offices advertise advanced equipment, but not all dentists truly understand how to use it effectively. Dr. Patterson is different—he continually invests in new technology and, more importantly, takes the time to study and master it. You can tell he’s committed to improving both his skills and the patient experience. The staff is professional, the service is consistently excellent, and the overall experience is smooth and reassuring every time I visit. Highly recommend—this is a 5-star dental office in every way.

Dr Patterson is personable and considerate, and has a keen interest in keeping up with Best Practices for my dental care! He’s the architect of my teeth, and I trust him—for over 15 years! Elizabeth at the front desk is super helpful and patient with all my insurance questions!

I love going to the dentist now that I see Dr John Patterson. It’s a combination of a dental visit and a show, as you view your teeth on the screen. The techniques and equipment that he uses are beyond state of the art. More importantly, he loves sharing the technology with the patient, demonstrating how each device, image and scan helps him diagnose your individual situation. The techniques that he uses are the newest and most modern approaches in dentistry, allowing him to achieve better results with less invasive procedures. The most impressive part is that he performs your dental hygiene himself. For the total visit, you are with Dr Patterson as he personally performs your cleaning, allowing him to better understand your teeth. This is a completely different dental visit from anything that I’ve ever experienced.

I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Patterson. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. He took the time to do a very thorough exam and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. For the first time, all the questions I’ve had about the health of my teeth were answered clearly, which was such a relief. What really stood out to me was how much he genuinely cares about his patients. He didn’t rush through the appointment and made sure I understood not only my current dental health, but also what I can do to prevent cavities and keep my teeth healthy in the future. You can tell he is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and truly dedicated to helping his patients. I’m so grateful I was referred to him and feel really confident about my dental care moving forward. I highly recommend Dr. John Patterson to anyone looking for a dentist who is both thorough and compassionate. If you’re looking for a dentist who takes the time to educate you and truly cares about your long-term dental health, Dr. Patterson is an excellent choice.

I grew up with some of the most insane dental anxiety and hated going as a kid even into my adult years. This is the first dentist I’ve been to that has genuinely gave me no anxiety whatsoever. Mr. Patterson is extremely kind and throughly explains everything going on and what you can do on your end to prevent and make things better in the long run. Ive also gotten a few cavities filled here and had zero pain or discomfort. I highly, highly recommend this dentist!!
