About Pediatric Dental Group

Pediatric Dental Group is a dental practice on Narcoossee Road in the LaVina area of Orlando, Florida. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

A sealant is a thin protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where the deep grooves collect plaque and food that brushing struggles to reach. It is most often applied to children's permanent molars shortly after they come through, though adults can benefit too.

A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.

Tooth Decay Treatment is also among the treatments offered here, and the practice can explain what it involves and whether it fits your situation at a consultation.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. What services does Pediatric Dental Group offer?

Does a dental cleaning hurt?
A routine cleaning is not usually painful, though it can feel uncomfortable if your gums are already inflamed. Deep cleaning goes further below the gumline and is normally carried out with a local anaesthetic for that reason.
Why do my gums bleed when the hygienist cleans my teeth?
Bleeding during a cleaning almost always points to inflammation in the gums rather than to rough technique. Gums that are healthy do not generally bleed. The encouraging part is that early gum inflammation is reversible once the build-up causing it is removed.
What does tooth decay feel like in the early stages?
Usually nothing at all, which is the difficulty. Decay tends to become noticeable only once it approaches the nerve, so a cavity is often found at a check-up rather than because it hurt.

Excellent service!!! They attended to us super fast! Jessica and Catalina were very patient with my girls, who are always afraid of the dentist. They made the girls feel comfortable and calm. Thank you so much for being so wonderful and giving them a beautiful and pleasant experience at the dentist 💕

So glad to be back at PDG of Lake Nona! I was able to make appointments for my two kiddos right away, after leaving our other dentist. From the front desk to the exam room, everyone is so nice. I wish I had never left in the first place but I’m glad they accept our insurance again!

I can’t say enough great things about this office! My son had a horrible toothache, and when we called, they made him an appointment the very same day and fit us in right away without hesitation to make sure he felt better as soon as possible. We drive over an hour just to come here, and it is absolutely worth it. Sol at the front desk, Imari at checkout, Marianne the dental assistant, and Dr. Daewood were all so kind, patient, and caring with my son. They made both of us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. Amazing dental offices are hard to find, but this one is truly one of a kind. Don’t hesitate to bring your child here they will feel safe, comfortable, and not afraid. Thank you to the team at Pediatric Dental Group, you guys rock!

Yes our Dr. was awesome, but I give all the credit for an exceptional visit to Ally. It was my son's first visit to a dentist & he did great. Ally answered every question my 6 y/o had with so much patience and kindness. Every staff member we encountered was super friendly. I'll admit I'm an overprotective mom, I even felt at ease there.

What a great first dentist experience for my 2.5 yr old! Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient with check in. They had a coloring table and Encanto on in the waiting room. We only waited about 10 minutes to be seen. The hygienist was so sweet and gentle with my daughter. She explained each thing that was going to happen and let me hold her hand the whole time. Dr. Dawood was quick with her exam and very kind. I was truly dreading this appointment, and it was such a relief for it to be a tear free, positive experience.

We had such a wonderful experience at Pediatric Dental Group in Orlando! I brought my 3-year-old daughter in for her first appointment and cleaning, and I couldn’t have asked for a better visit. The entire staff was incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The office was very clean, bright, and super kid-friendly, which made my daughter feel comfortable right away. The dental assistant, front desk staff, and the dentist herself all went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. They were patient, gentle, and explained everything in a way that made the experience stress-free for both of us. My daughter actually left smiling, which says everything! I highly recommend this office to any parent looking for a caring and professional dental team for their child.
