About Pediatric Dental OKC

Based on Northwest Expressway in the Northwest Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Pediatric Dental OKC is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Modern digital X-rays use a very low dose and are taken only when there is a clinical reason. They show decay between teeth and problems with developing adult teeth that cannot be seen by looking.
How do I stop my child getting cavities?
Brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, supervising until they have the dexterity to do it properly, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear during the day. Frequency of sugar matters more than the total amount.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

Pediatric Dental OKC is a phenomenal child's dentistry. They are very kind, efficient and knowledgeable. My grandson has been going there since Covid ended. So he has gone there for 6 years. We would not go anywhere else for his dental health.

This place is great. I live 2 and half hours away and I wouldn't take my girls to another dentist. They are great at what they do 😁❤️

My kids have been going here for years and haven't had many issues other than their schedules being pushed out for months at a time for everything. My youngest needed a very small filling taken care of and couldn't get us in for 2mos, so I took the initiative to get the tooth treated thw following week at another office before it became a bigger issue. So fast forward, it's time for the 6mo cleaning and since we went to another office for treatment neither of my kids can be seen at this office due to their policy. Craziest thing I've ever heard.

I had such a great experience at this dental office with my daughter. She is autistic, and I always worry about how appointments will go, but the staff here were absolutely amazing. They were so patient, kind, and understanding of her needs. I like how it’s noted that’s she’s on the spectrum so they give us a nice room to wait in until it’s her time to go back!! I’ll come back and list the dentist name that we seen, She was very good with handling my daughter!

I like the fact that you are seen within 5-10 minutes of your appointment time. Everyone seems to be in good spirits every time I have brought my daughter in for service. They are very patient and show so much compassion for the children. My daughter has anxiety when it comes to any type of medical treatment no matter what kind and they take time to make sure she is at ease and comfortable before starting the process. I am pleased with service they provide and highly recommend them to anyone with small children.

Ecstatics are great! Front desk associates were professional and courteous. I feel if they showed a sense of concern sprinkled with a little bit of joy this would be a top notch dental office. However, the surgeon, he was very pleasant, professional. He greeted us with a handshake and a smile while explaining the procedure and answering our concerns. He left me with a sense of peace that my child was going to be in great hands. Overall, it was a good experience.

Very clean and professional pediatric dental office. We were referred from dental depot and have had good experiences at all of our appointments. It is high volume but there is a full staff that keeps things moving smoothly along. We have never had a long wait time or issues getting drs notes and follow-ups schedule quickly after appointments. Highly recommend and it is worth the drive from Norman. The windows to the west have a nice view of the water and the mini arcade games help keep the kids entertained.
