About Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants

Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants provides dental care on Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance, California. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Frequently Asked Questions

Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants is on Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance, California (90505).
What days is Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants open?
Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants offer?
Listed services at Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants include Wisdom Teeth Removal. The full list is shown on this page.
Do wisdom teeth always need to be removed?
No. Wisdom teeth that come through cleanly, in a good position, and can be kept clean are often left alone. Removal is generally advised when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front.
Why do wisdom teeth cause problems?
They arrive last, often into a jaw with no room left, so they become impacted or come through at an angle. Partly erupted wisdom teeth are also very difficult to clean, which is why they are prone to repeated infection and decay.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

Everything was absolutely perfect. No complaints whatsoever. The staff was perfect with great personalities. My opinion is that if all businesses were like that, this country would be a better place. Plus Dr. N approved my new AC Cobra

Amazing and easy process. Definitely recommending other individuals. The up close and personal assistant was great. That was the first time I felt totally comfortable at a dentist facility.

Peninsula Oral Surgery is the best!! I’ve been to their office 6 times and every time they take me in early, the staff is incredibly professional, kind and caring! As soon as I’m in the office Dr. Nguyen is literally in to see me within minutes! I have never received this kind of professionalism from an entire staff ever in my life! I highly recommend Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants!!

The professionalism of this team is unmatched. I called in a panic situation and they got me right in to do initial scans and give me next step options. Though the treatment I needed could not be done in their office, Dr. Nguyen walked me through what to do next thoroughly. On my way out, I was provided 3 general practice dentists that would suit my natural apprehension to dentist care as a whole. What was even better, then called me well after I left the appointment because they found one additional dentist that they remembered after the fact. An additional call was completely unnecessary (considering all they had recommended already) but an example of extra care they give. This short expertise will leave a lasting impact for future needs.

Great service, dental staff was courteous and understanding. They are thorough and explain in detail what is happening, questions in consultations are addressed either patient in mind! Monica was amazing! Recently had a wisdom tooth removed with Dr. Omoto, very professional and a fantastic oral surgeon. Perla and Judy were also fabulous! They made the experience non intimidating and as pleasant as possible. Thanks Peninsula Oral Surgery & Implants.

They have captured the lost art of being professional in such a great way! The staff and medical professionals were friendly. The facilities were clean, modern, and welcoming. The doctor was attentive and answered all my questions. The appointment was right on time if not early since I arrived early and I didn’t have to wait. Whoever is in charge of this office should be a consultant for how offices should operate!
