About Pennsylvania Dental Group Ltd

Pennsylvania Dental Group Ltd provides dental care on South Street in the Graduate Hospital area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. I’ve had three experience at PA Dental Group and they have all been incredibly pleasant. Frankly, this office has performed like a masterpiece like a well-trained orchestra every time I’ve gone in. Barbara at the front desk sets a warm, welcoming tone and after our greetings, she assured me that the hygienist, Reem, would be with me in a moment. Sure enough, Reem invited me back at my appointment time and took great care of my teeth. She went further to share her recommendations on water picks and answered every question I had. She added so much value beyond my cleaning and I’m grateful. Finally, Dr. Pasierb came in to conduct a final inspection and gave me the green light to go along with a couple of laughs. I’ve never been one to enjoy going to see the dentist, but coming to this office is an absolute joy. I’m so glad to find them. Thank you for all the work, training and natural abilities that everyone brings to this office.

Excellent service from start to finish. The front desk was helpful with scheduling, and I was seen right on time. The dentist was very patient and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. The clinic is modern, clean, and well-equipped. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely recommend this place to others.

My experiences with this office were mixed, but the bad parts were really bad. A few years ago I told them, during a routine visit, that I was experiencing hot and cold sensitivity on my lower right molar. The dentist took a look and said I needed a new crown. He did something at the computer and said we was submitting a claim to my insurance company. Fast forward to the next visit a few months later. I expected the work on the crown to begin, but the dentist seemed not to recall this. When I reminded the ensist, he said it must have been a glitch and he would submit the claim again. Again, fast forward a few more months for another visit. SAME EXACT THING. They had no institutional memory of the issue and, to my amazement, simply said the same thing: my insurance company had rejected their claim and they would submit it again. This time, I reached out to my insurance company (Delta) and they told me they had never received a claim for this procedure. I started looking immediately for a new dentist. Before I could find one, the entire top third of my molar came off while I was eating some peanut butter. The admin at the front desk isn't great, but in my experience the back end was even worse. The really shocking thing was their nonchalance over the entire issue.

I used to be afraid to go to the dentist because I had a really bad experience with a hygienist somewhere else. Before I started coming here, I hadn’t been to the dentist in 5 years. Now I go to the dentist every 6 months and I don’t worry about it because the hygienists are very kind and gentle, but also very efficient.

Dental work is ok but the admin at this practice is terrible. I stopped using this dentist 3 years ago when they cancelled my appointment, said they would add me to the waitlist since their next appointment was 6 months away, and proceeded to never call. Fast forward to yesterday when they sent me a bill for an xray that my insurance didn’t fully cover from 3 YEARS AGO. This was the first bill they had ever sent me regarding this xray and all the bill said was “balance forward” - no appointment date or any billing code, which required me to physically go to this practice to try to figure out why I was receiving a bill so long after the fact. I’d give them zero stars if I could.

I really liked my dentist and my hygienist. They were very personable and did not rush. There were several things that should have gone much better. The office immediately set me up to do an x ray first , without checking to see if insurance would cover it. But I had already sent x rays to the office and insurance would not cover another set. I knew to decline the x rays, and the office still billed me for the x rays even though I did not get them. But had I not known, I would have been charged 1000+ dollars for a full set of X-rays I did not need. That’s very shady and irresponsible. The doctor said I had two cavities without looking at an x ray and did not make it clear which teeth it was. He wanted to fill the cavity right away without x ray evidence. And do not explain why they thought it was a cavity. At the office the front desk was totally fine, but front office correspondence is basically non existent. They do not respond to email.
