About Periodontics Inc
Periodontics Inc provides dental care on Gano Street in the Fox Point area of Providence, Rhode Island. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.
A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.
At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this office. The only positive part of my visit was the periodontist/dentist I spoke with, they were professional and helpful. Unfortunately, everything else about this office was disorganized and unprofessional. The front desk and billing department never answer the phone. I called 3 WEEKS ahead of time to cancel an appointment, yet I’m still receiving messages threatening to charge me a no-show fee. It’s impossible to resolve anything when nobody answers calls or follows up properly. I was referred here by my regular dentist for a lengthening surgery consultation, and at no point before the appointment was I informed that I would need to pay $200 upfront. They only brought it up after the appointment was over, and nobody even bothered checking whether my insurance would cover any portion of it beforehand. On top of that, the front desk staff were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the process. The office overall feels poorly managed, and based on the number of overly glowing reviews compared to the actual experience, I honestly question how genuine some of the positive reviews are. I absolutely do not recommend this office.
Excellent experience no complaints at all .
Dr. Fertik and his team provided exceptional care from start to finish. Despite my initial nervousness, I was immediately put at ease by their calm, welcoming demeanor. Every staff member demonstrated both thoroughness and genuine expertise, and I felt genuinely cared for throughout my visit. What truly impressed me was the level of care that extended beyond the appointment itself. Dr. Fertik personally called to check on my healing progress, showing a commitment to his patients that goes far beyond routine practice. Additionally, when my previous dentist was no longer accepting my insurance, Dr. Fertik and his team took the time to walk me through in-network options, ensuring a seamless transition to a new provider. I would highly recommend Dr. Fertik without hesitation.
I was told I need to see a periodontist because of a suspicious area in my mouth. I was very fearful because I dread the process of needles in my mouth and the aftermath. I postponed the appointment three times before I finally went to see Dr Ferrig in early December. I cannot ring the praises high enough for Dr. Fertig. His demeanor Immediately set me at ease. He was gentle and talked me thru the process as he was working in my mouth. When he finished I felt no pain and I had no pain at any time thereafter. Literally, no pain. Well done Dr Fertig.
My first visit was for a deep cleaning which I was petrified to have done. It ended up being nothing at all and I had, absolutely, no pain at all after! My second visit was for graphting. Dr. Broderick was amazing! He was kind, attentative and patient. I highly recommend him!
I'm new to the practice. I'm very pleased with the care and concern of the dentist and the staff related to the treatments I've been receiving. I would definitely recommend this practice.
I had my dental graft surgery done at this facility months ago and I couldn’t speak more highly of them. It’s been roughly 3 months since my surgery and I’ve healed up perfectly and they were very clear about what I should expect with my recovery. I’ve since seen my regular dentist for a cleaning and they were impressed with the results as well. I’m normally such a scaredy cat about medical things and they did a good job of putting me at ease and were transparent about how I should expect things to go.
I had a double gum graft done by Dr. Kleinbaum and it went amazing! I was super nervous and wanted a Dr I felt comfortable with, and with her and Rachel I felt completely at ease. Their conversation and kindness made all the difference in my experience. I was also able to listen to music, close my eyes, and just let them do their thing. Not a bad surgery at all!
