About Petit Smiles: Pediatric Dentist in Coral Gables

Based on Sunset Drive in the Riviera area of Coral Gables, Florida, Petit Smiles: Pediatric Dentist in Coral Gables is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Thank you Petit Smiles for giving our daughter her smile back. After a terrible accident where she broke her two front teeth, someone recommended petit smiles in coral gables & we were able to get a next day appointment. They were quick, sweet, so so so professional. They have their ways with babies/kids to get them to take x rays. The doctor was such a sweet woman. My husband and I adored her and she had this very calming aura to her. She saw no root damage and made a plan to fix the teeth with composite resin. they did a cleaning on my daughter & then with the help of my husband, we held laid her on top of me and held her arms and legs. They worked quickly, professionally and they did an incredible job. It is art what Dr Vanessa did. It’s like if nothing ever happened. We are sooo happy. Thank you Petit Smiles, you are now our favorite dentist office!

My young kid had several cavities taken care of at once with Dr Liza who is simply the best. Ask for Dr Liza. She is super sweet and made my daughter feel at ease.

Wonderful team! Our family has moved countries quite a bit. Generally we’ve had great experiences in all of our paediatric dentistry’s, however, this was special. From Dr. Vanessa, assistants and reception, my girls felt at ease. Moreover, they had fun and didn’t want to leave in the end. Thank you!

Great staff! everyone was super helpful and caring. My son was very nervous and curious Eva (dentist assistant) explained everything to him in detail with patience. Both her and the dentist were very gentle, careful, and loving with him. It was overall a great experience!

Service was amazing! This was the first time my daughter went to a dentist visit, we were worried about how she was going to react, but everything was great! The doctor and the assistants are great and made her feel very comfortable. The office is also great and perfect for kids.

I could not be happier with the quality of care and service my kids received from the staff and doctor at Petite Smile in Coral Gables. The place is petite but the service is outstanding. The place is clean, organized, the staff is very professional and friendly but most of all they are very patient, caring, and pedagogic with their approach to teeth care when kids are anxious or afraid of the procedures. My 9 year old has been in two previous dentist who unsuccessfully tried to work on her cavities. At petite smile they took us as an urgent service to address how advanced my daughter’s cavity has become. They successfully extract two teeth that became compromised and took x rays. Most importantly they completely erased the bad memories from previous experiences. Now she says she wants to become a dentist when she grows up. Totally recommend this service for kids. Limited in street pay by phone parking. Two blocks away from Sunset mall.
