The practice delivers professional general dental care with an emphasis on comprehensive clinical service for the working professional patient base of Center City. Comprehensive oral examinations evaluate tooth structure, gum tissue health, bite alignment, and the condition of any existing restorations, providing a thorough clinical picture that guides each patient's ongoing oral health care. Radiographic imaging supports early detection of developing cavities, bone level changes, and pathology at the stage when treatment is most straightforward.

Professional cleanings remove the calculus and plaque deposits that accumulate on tooth surfaces and below the gumline between visits, reducing the bacterial load associated with gum disease and decay. For patients with active decay, Philadelphia Dental Associates provides tooth-colored composite fillings that restore cavity-affected teeth while maintaining a natural appearance. Dental crowns are available for teeth with more significant structural damage, and extractions are performed when needed.

Don’t go here. Care is subpar. And front desk is an unprofessional, and entitled mother and daughter duo, who has probably been here for so long they’re never getting rid of them. If you scroll down, most complaints are about them. I moved to the area and went here because it was near me and got a check up and some fillings done. 1) it’s been 3 months and my pain is still there. Life has been so busy I’ve barely had the time to follow up but my 2nd yearly appointment is coming up so I was like I’ll see and mention it then. 2) When I was there receiving my payments, the older woman said to pay the whole cost because insurance doesn’t cover the whole thing but that’s okay because we usually cover the rest. I’ve never heard of that but it’s my first time with employer dental so I even clarified what would happen if the insurance didn’t cover all, and she said word for word “we’ll cover the cost”. Now fast forward they sent me a bill. First they sent me a $400 something dollar bill and I reiterated what was said to me. Then they said to disregard my previous bill and sent me a $300 bill. (all of this is in text btw) My insurance isn’t covering the rest and the correct way to handle this would have been to tell me to try to resolve this with insurance first and just send me the copy of the plethora of documents they have you sign,( where I’m sure all of these fine print is noted). My fault for trusting the place because it seemed to be owned by a small family run business. Anyway, the cherry on top is her leaving me a voice mail, and not correctly hanging up on the phone and saying “oh yeah 26 year old. We are going to eat the cost like we have nothing better to do”. And I messaged back hey you didn’t hang up properly, and I heard you talking about my age? Like sorry you’re not 26 anymore? Idek what to say to that. Of course the office manager responds to everything else I said but NO comment to the fact that she’s making a rude comment about my age. THEN they’re scrambling get the contracts. Like yes, I understand you made me sign like a bunch of stuff and you called my estimate a receipt. All in all, the whole cadence of communication is just SO rude. Like who talks to people like that? Especially when you’re dealing with medical patients and billing? Happy to include the screenshot of the conversation. For anyone questioning, especially. And I understand how Google Reviews work, so plz don’t bother responding back and explaining your side. I’m sure you guys get so many patients in and out, that no one cares there.

Been going here for about 6 years now and I’ve always been well taken care of. Maddie the hygienist is amazing — I always request her. She’s gentle, knowledgeable, and really knows what she’s doing. Dr. Kang is great as well. Always a good experience.

I had around 10 cavities treated by Dr.Kang and a crown procedure. While all those were done excellently, I had an extremely poor experience with the front-office/billing team (a recurring theme from other reviews). Initially there was a bit of back and forth to get the right bills and amounts, and once most of it was paid, I had a call from them saying Delta Dental didn't pay them for one operation and they wanted me to sort it out with my insurance, or pay the remaining amount. I checked on my insurance portal and it seemed it was still processing, so I wanted to wait and see. After that I didn't hear anything from them, and thought it was resolved. Then 4 or 5 months later, I supposedly get a call from them but didn't know of it, as I was traveling abroad and was using an e-sim. I find out from my dad(who was an emergency contact), that they contacted them to let them know they were going to send the remainder bill of $800 to a collection agency, if I didn't pay right away and for him to contact me on my trip. They apparently sent me many notices, or emails (I didn't get any, and later found out they didn't have my email on file due to a clerical entry error). I had to spend some time to think about this while I was abroad. And I just felt upset and this was so unprofessional from them... I was going to deal with it after I came back from my trip. After arriving back in the US I call them, email them, and then text them and don't get any response back for a couple days. It then turns out that they didn't see the updated processed claim, and it was in fact taken care of by my insurance, and I just owed $100. They then waived it after one whole week of waiting for the bill. I wouldn't have minded paying the $100 or the original $800, but the service, and incompetence was just staggering, and I will not be returning back to Dr. Kang's office. This was totally unacceptable, and even their text apology didn't seem sincere. You can make mistakes, but this is no way to communicate or treat your patients.

I come on time for my appointment but I always have to wait 15+ minutes to be seen. It seems like they’re never running on schedule, which is really inconvenient after I traveled 30+ minutes to get here. And when I’m finally seen by a provider, I’m rushed through the service. The office is in the heart of the city so finding parking can be a hassle. I do meter parking but once again, I end up paying extra because I am never seen on time. The equipment & chairs also seem a little worn out, the hygienist who saw me last appointment left my mouth guard from x-rays on the counter, I’m not sure if they wipe the counters down in between patients. The staff are polite and I receive constant reminder texts so because of that I rate it 2 stars, as opposed to 1.

I am getting my first crown and Dr. Kang / his staff have been super kind and attentive. They're very patient with all your questions and will address any concerns. Dr. Kang is also amazing - I have major dental anxiety but he is willing to explain everything just so you understand what is going on. I've been seeing Dr. Kang for several years now and he always takes the time to discuss my concerns - which just shows he cares about his work and patients. I would say billing is relatively transparent - if there are unexpected billing surprises, it is most likely due to insurance claims - not the office themselves. I really like Dr. Kang and I'd say he is my favorite dentist 🦷

I’ve been a patient at this office for quite some time, and while the clinical care has always been excellent, my recent experience with the front desk and management was extremely disappointing. I was given a bill for an X-ray that was not covered by insurance, which I completely understand and had no issue paying. However, my bill also included a $50 no-show fee. I questioned this because I never received any notice of a missed appointment and you call and call and they don’t answer! I CALLED AND THEY DIDN’T ANSWER, and someone had previously agreed that the fee would be removed. When a staff member reviewed the charges with me, the numbers simply did not add up. I was told the X-ray was $53 and the bonding procedure was around $69, yet the total presented to me was $169. I politely told the inexperienced young girl that those numbers don’t add up to $169. Instead of receiving an explanation, the office manager came in and immediately took a hostile tone, telling me I had upset her staff and that I needed to leave. Being treated that way for respectfully asking about my bill was extremely unprofessional. I worked at a dental office that was very very busy and they would never disrespect their patients. To be clear, my dentist Dr Kang and dental hygienist Anne were wonderful, as they always have been. The quality of care is not the issue. The problem is the way billing concerns and patient communication are handled at the front desk and management level. Patients should be able to ask questions about charges without being made to feel uncomfortable or dismissed. Can’t wait to find better!

I recently had crowns placed on my two front teeth at Philadelphia Dental Associates, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From start to finish, the entire team was professional, kind, and incredibly skilled. Dr. Kang took the time to explain the procedure in detail, making sure I felt comfortable and confident every step of the way. The attention to detail and care they put into matching the crowns to my natural teeth was truly impressive. The office environment was welcoming, clean, and modern, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. I highly recommend Philadelphia Dental Associates. Thank you!
