About Philadelphia Dentists
Philadelphia Dentists provides general dental services to patients in South Philadelphia from its office at 1611 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19148. South Broad Street at 1611 runs through the heart of South Philadelphia, accessible for patients from across the 19148 zip code and surrounding South Philadelphia neighborhoods. Broad Street is one of the city's primary transit corridors, making the practice accessible from across the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The practice delivers straightforward general dental care for the diverse residential population of South Philadelphia. Comprehensive oral examinations evaluate tooth structure, gum tissue health, bite alignment, and the condition of any existing dental restorations, establishing a thorough clinical baseline that informs each patient's ongoing care plan. Radiographic imaging supports early detection of developing conditions — interproximal cavities, bone changes, and pathology — at the stage when treatment is simplest and least invasive.
Professional cleanings remove the hardened tartar deposits that accumulate on tooth surfaces and below the gumline between visits, reducing the bacterial environment associated with gum disease and tooth decay. For patients with active decay, the practice provides tooth-colored composite fillings that restore tooth integrity while maintaining a natural appearance. Dental crowns are available for teeth with more significant structural damage, and extractions are performed when preservation is not feasible.
South Broad Street at 1611 is served by the SEPTA Broad Street Line at Tasker-Morris station and by bus routes on Broad Street and connecting South Philadelphia corridors. Street parking is available on the surrounding South Philadelphia residential grid. I’ve been coming here for years. The staff is always Friendly and they get you in and out quickly
This was BY FAR the best dental care experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Lyle is the best dentist I have ever been to. I came in for my first appointment with some pain in a couple spots. After x-rays and a cleaning it turned out I had to get a couple fillings replaced and one adjusted. They were able to get that done all in the same visit. I was in and out in an hour. Dr. Lyle communicated very well and made me feel very comfortable. I trust her completely with my dental care. Candace was an excellent dental assistant that treated me very kindly as well. From the second, I walked in the office Kirsten at the front desk made me feel very welcome. She guided me through the paperwork process and made every step of my visit very clear for me. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a dental practice, you can trust! Will be coming back.
11 out of 10! Needed help with a filling and they were able to bring me in for an appointment within MINUTES. So friendly, so kind. :’)
Great customer service
I'm honestly confused about this place. They inform you that you need a procedure done, but when you ask them to run your insurance to see how much it'll cover they never answer. 5 phone calls gone unanswered. Interesting.
I will be doing my follow up appointments elsewhere. I confirmed my appointment yesterday, showed up and the appointment had been cancelled in their system. They said they could still see me. I waited an hour and a half for my appointment. The woman doing the X-rays kept missing and redoing them over and over, to the point that I had to stop her. They tried to sell me on a bunch of unnecessary treatments. Then the dentist himself did my cleaning. He was rushing like crazy and missed half of my mouth with the polishing and flouride. Not worth your money or your time! Also when I scheduled the appointment, their system charged my card the copay amount 4 times and they had to refund me. That should've been my sign to go somewhere else. But you live and learn.
Kiersten helps me a lot. Sheis nice and kind and never judges anyone. She understands people's needs really good. Easy to talk to too. The dental office is clean and modern. Front desk is nice and doctors are nice. Good staff with appointments always available. Great place for dental work if you need it
This place is great but Gabby was absolutely wonderful! She is so nice, helpful, sweet and great at her job. Gabby made sure to explain everything they were doing and the work that they would be doing at upcoming appointments. She took the time to make sure I understood everything and answer all of my questions and address concerns I had.
I absolutely love this office. I see Dr Alvin Zad and his assistant/office manager Kierstin who is lovely and beyond helpful. They have made something that is terrifying for me such an easy and smooth experience. I love the front desk girls Gabby and Maly who help with treatment planning. The office is clean and you really get that neighborhood feeling. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, regardless of my commute time. Shout out to you guys!
My experience at Philadelphia Dental was mixed. I originally came in for an appointment with Dr. Lyle, but she was unavailable that day and I was seen by another dentist instead (Dr. Alvin Zad). During that visit, I was told I had six cavities and needed six fillings, which immediately raised concern for me as it felt excessive and inaccurate. I spoke with the dental assistant, Kiersten, and requested a second opinion with my requested dentist. She was understanding and helped me reschedule without issue. When I later saw Dr. Lyle, she confirmed that my teeth were healthy and in good condition and did not see any of the issues previously mentioned. While I can’t speak to the intentions behind the initial assessment, I personally would not feel comfortable being treated by Dr. Zad. That said, Dr. Lyle was excellent, Kiersten was professional and supportive, and Gabby at the front desk was also very helpful. I’m grateful I trusted my instincts and sought a second opinion. I highly recommend Dr. Lyle and the staff I interacted with, but I strongly encourage patients to advocate for themselves and ask questions if something doesn’t feel right. I will follow Dr. Lyle wherever she goes.
