About Philadelphia FIGHT Family Dentistry

Philadelphia FIGHT Family Dentistry provides accessible dental care as part of Philadelphia FIGHT's community health mission, operating from the 4th Floor at 1207 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Philadelphia FIGHT is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) founded to serve individuals living with HIV/AIDS and the broader underserved communities of Philadelphia, and its dental program extends affordable, comprehensive dental care to the patient population it serves.

The dental program delivers preventive and restorative dental care on a sliding-fee scale, ensuring that dental access is not determined solely by ability to pay. Affordable dental care and family dental care are core to the program's service model. Dental care for patients living with HIV requires clinical attention to the oral manifestations of HIV disease and medication side effects — including dry mouth, oral candidiasis, and periodontal disease — areas where the clinical staff have direct experience and training.

Services include comprehensive oral examinations, professional cleanings, radiographic imaging, composite fillings for cavity treatment, extractions, and preventive care suited to patients with complex medical backgrounds. The FIGHT dental team coordinates with other FIGHT health services including primary care, infectious disease, and behavioral health, supporting the whole-patient approach that defines FIGHT's integrated care model.

Chestnut Street at 1207 in Center City East is served by SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line at 8th and 11th Street stations and by multiple bus routes, making the clinic accessible from across the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Philadelphia FIGHT Family Dentistry is a mission-driven dental resource for underserved Philadelphians — including patients living with HIV and those in need of affordable, integrated dental care in the 19107 community.

This office is the absolute best,I was under the impression that I needed all my teeth extracted, but that was not the case. Upon my initial appointment they told me that they could save some teeth and it's not necessary to pull all my teeth, and then they cleaned my teeth after my X-rays. Since then I have had 3 extraction appointments and next week they'll be doing the filling part after which I will be fitted for my partial. The people that work on my teeth are really great and I experienced absolutely no pain, they really make sure you're nice and numb. Go here and get that grill fixed what are you wanting for, you're never gonna get laid with a mouth full of rotted teeth. These folks are great especially Cay.

The dentist here is amazing. The whole place is so kind. My only regret is not coming to this dentist years ago before I lost some of my teeth. Thank you so much

Aside from my visits there and how great the dentists and their assistance are, Bernice at the front desk is very professional and patient. I wanted to give her her flowers. We need more good customer service people like her.

I don't usually write reviews, however my most recent experience this morning with Alexis (I believe that was her name) ..via phone; was one of the best encounters I've had since going to this dental office. I did not even know good customer service existed here. I really like Dr. Chan, which is why I've always stayed BUT the bilingual receptionists often make it extremely hard to have a pleasant experience. Bernice Rosario and Victoria Rodriguez tend to have very unfitting attitudes to be in the line of customer service. Receptionists should display problem solving skills, patience, attentiveness and somewhat of emotional intelligence. I've never experienced that here until I spoke with Alexis today and it was very much appreciated.

I would have gave then 5 stars, but the attitude of one of the ladies that works as the receptionist is always off putting. She always seems as though she's annoyed to do her job and isn't helpful. The newer lady was helping me until the other lady told her to make me call everyday for opening to make an appointment for that day. I had an infection and just finished up antibiotics, needed the tooth out and she wants me to call everyday about apt. In the mean time the infection in my tooth came back and I need to look for new dentist. It's a shame because everyone including the the dentist are some of the most welcoming and compassionate people I've ever met. I emailed ahead of last apt to let them know I couldn't make it and she's not letting me make another. I've never encountered this issue in my 30 years of life until her. Overall I hope she heals from whatever is causing her to be bitter and finds happiness.
