Pine Dentistry operates on Maryland Avenue Northeast in the Northeast Washington area of Washington, District of Columbia. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. I'm a single mom with six kids, and we've all been to the Maryland Avenue location. It’s really roomy and super clean. Everyone who works there is really nice, attentive, and professional. Overall, it was a good experience. Thanks to everyone there!
Excellent service
My son was well taken care of .. the Dentist was very patient and calming.. She is very hard working . The staff was friendly and courteous..would highly recommend.
I don’t like how they act at us, and they almost hit my baby niece and of stead of them saying sorry they just made us sit down with an angry voice tone. And also I come on time on my appointment and makes us wake even longer then they say I should be there.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RATS!!! I knew i was going to have a problem here when i first called to make an appointment. The person I talked to had a heavy Asian accent but spoke so fast that i could not understand him. I asked him several times to please slow down but he wouldn't. I got the feeling that he could speak slower, but he WOULD NOT. I couldn't get an appointment until a month later, in August. I got a confirmation robo-call from Pine on July 29, and i confirmed my appointment. I also called Pine that week and spoke to a live person to confirm. I show up the morning of August 1 and am told, "THERE IS NO HYGIENIST TO SEE YOU TODAY." I asked why no one called me to cancel the appointment, but there was no answer from the desk person. I checked my voicemail and texts, and confirmed that there were none from Pine cancelling the appointment. I took off work, and turned down jobs to make this appointment, and i feel like they just don't care. If you want reasonable customer service, DO NOT COME HERE!! Also, when i walked in this morning, August 1, a man walked in behind me and rudely tried to walk through the front door ahead of me. As I waited in line at the front desk the man began walking throughout the clinic triggering rat traps!! He stuck something into each trap and they would snap close loudly and jump up in the air. I understand the need for rat traps, but why was he triggering them while customers were in the clinic? Another example of poor customer service!
they never answer the phone. i think since they’re closing shortly their customer service quality has plummeted significantly. i’ve never had a problem with them answering the phone until recently. some of their front desk workers have nasty attitudes and a unwelcoming vibe. i can’t remember her name but the asian woman who works there is my favorite i love her she’s always polite. everytime i get her i know she’s going to do whatever i need done correctly. another worker unfortunately didnt do my fill in correctly and i ended up having to get a root canal on the tooth she worked on & she did the same thing to my brother months later!!
Every time we show for our appointment, they never see us on time. They always have us waiting extra hour after our appointment time but if we show up late 15 minutes late We have to reschedule which I think is unfair then they have times on the wall saying that if you schedule a 1230 or 430 appointment you do not have a grace. Period. They do not have a supervisor nobody you can talk to. They don’t have no corporate or nothing horrible and I do not recommend.
