About Prairie Dental Group

Same-day crowns change your calendar more than they change your bill. Milling a ceramic crown in the office removes the temporary, the second appointment and two weeks of chewing carefully on one side, but the fee usually lands in a similar range to a laboratory-made crown, and the material still matters for back teeth carrying heavy load. Prairie Dental Group offers same-day crowns, so if a cracked molar is what brought you here, the useful question at the consultation is which ceramic gets milled for your particular tooth and how it performs where you actually bite.

This is a locally owned and woman-owned general practice that has been in Springfield since 2000, staffed by an all-female clinical team the office describes as carrying more than 70 years of combined experience. Treatment spans routine preventive care and children's dentistry, restorative work including dental implants and bridges, cosmetic dentistry with whitening and veneers, and Botox and dermal fillers. Emergency appointments are available, which is worth noting because plenty of practices this size refer urgent problems straight out to somebody else.

A first appointment is an examination, imaging and a conversation about what needs doing now against what can reasonably be watched. On the money side, the office is candid that it works with some insurance providers rather than every plan, so verify yours specifically before booking. It also participates in the Veterans Affairs Community Care Partnership, which matters if you are a veteran being routed through that programme. The waiting area has free Wi-Fi, television and massaging chairs, small comforts that still tell you something about how long the office expects some appointments to run.

Find it at 2900 Greenbriar Drive, 62704, among the low-rise professional buildings on Springfield's west side. That is an easy run if you are already out toward White Oaks or living south in Chatham; from Riverton, Rochester or the near east side you are committing to a cross-town drive at whatever Veterans Parkway is doing that hour. Weekdays start at 8 a.m., with a 7:30 opening on Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday finish at 4 p.m., and Friday closes at 1 p.m. with nothing scheduled at weekends, so a Friday morning slot is the last chance in any given week to deal with something that has been nagging since Monday.

Prairie Dental Group is a locally and woman-owned general practice on Greenbriar Drive in west Springfield, running since 2000 with an all-female clinical team. Treatment covers preventive and children's dentistry, same-day crowns, dental implants and bridges, whitening and veneers, plus Botox and dermal fillers and emergency appointments. The office works with some insurance providers rather than all, and participates in the Veterans Affairs Community Care Partnership. Fridays close at 1 p.m.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are same-day crowns as durable as laboratory crowns?
For most situations they perform comparably, and you avoid both the temporary crown and the second appointment. The real differences are in material: milled ceramics vary in strength and in how convincingly they match neighbouring teeth, which matters more on a front tooth than on a molar. Heavy grinders sometimes do better with a laboratory-layered option. Ask what material is being milled for your tooth, and why that one.
Will this office take my insurance?
The practice is straightforward that it works with some insurance providers rather than every plan, so check yours specifically before booking instead of assuming. It also participates in the Veterans Affairs Community Care Partnership, which is relevant if you are a veteran routed through that programme. If you are paying yourself, ask for a written itemised estimate up front, since that makes comparing Springfield offices far easier.
What is the practice like for nervous or younger patients?
It is a locally and woman-owned office that has been running since 2000, with an all-female clinical team the practice describes as having more than 70 years of combined experience between them. Children's dentistry is part of the regular workload rather than an exception. The waiting area offers free Wi-Fi, television and massaging chairs. If anxiety is the issue, mention it when booking so a longer, slower appointment can be arranged.

Prairie Dental Group is State of the Art. The dentists are exceptional. No matter your problem or dental situation they have a solution. The dentists, hygienists and staff are knowledgeable, friendly, kind and concerned about each patient. They have the latest equipment and methods. I can’t say enough good about everyone. My husband and I have had various dental procedures done at Prairie including extractions, crowns, bridges etc. over several years. We have always appreciated the concern and expert service and care. Our particular dentist is Dr. Ozure. She is wonderful. We appreciate her so much and highly recommend her. All the dentists are great. We both give Prairie Dental 5+ Stars. Lynn Wagy

I recently had three tooth extractions done, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about Dr. Long and her team at Prairie Dental Group. From start to finish, they were amazing. They consistently checked in on my comfort, clearly explained what was happening at each step, and made sure I felt informed and at ease the entire time. Dental work can be stressful, but they truly went above and beyond to make my experience the best it could be. This was hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend Prairie Dental Group to anyone looking for compassionate, professional care.

Told you I can’t afford it, but yet you are very rude on the phone. You need to have better phone etiquette.

Ladies at the front desk were great. Didn't wait super long to get taken back to a chair. Dental assistant(can't remember her name. Sorry! 😅) was very thorough and great. Dr. Ozyurt was amazing, kind and explained everything in detail and made me comfortable with the idea of having a major oral surgery with no anesthetic, something I never would have dreamed of before 😬 great experience all around and I look forward to finally having my teeth removed at my next appointmentand not being in pain 🫶🏻

My husband was referred to Prairie Dental by the VA. Cathy is great dealing with the VA!! He's been going to them for a few months, having extensive work done and he's had absolutely no problems. The doctors and staff are the best you could ask for!!! So kind and friendly!! If my insurance covered them, I'd be going there as well!! We highly recommend this dental group to anyone!!

Dr Allison Long and the whole staff are amazing! There is absolutely no reason to have concerns of pain, or the quality of care. As for myself, I had deep cleaning, with no discomfort. I had 4 crowns done in one session, and I was made comfortable and well informed the entire time. The office personnel and technicians are extremely courteous and knowledgeable. I'm so happy to have found them.
