About Prairie Hawk Dental

Prairie Hawk Dental operates on Limelight Avenue in Castle Rock, Colorado. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it. Today was my very first appointment with Prairie Hawk Dental. Both Dr. English and his assistant were very kind and considerate. He listened to my concerns and explained what was needed. In a matter of minutes, I felt completely at ease. I highly recommend this office if you suffer from anxieties, as I do.

Super disappointed and frustrated with my experience. I thought I had done my due diligence in choosing a dental office to go to. I had zero issues before my visit, outside of a very mild (and not often) sensitivity to hot and cold on one molar. My cleaning was extremely painful and bloody, taking almost 2 hours of rough scraping and proding. Dr. Goodman's assessment and time spent with me was less than 10 minutes where he stated I needed a crown and 4-5 cavities filled along with a "likely" future extraction of one of my wisdom teeth, that again I've had zero problems with. I went home in extreme pain that caused a migraine. It's been 4 days and now I'm having pain in all of my teeth and I'm furious that I even went to the dentist for a cleaning while having no problems. Now I'm likely going to have to spend extra money for a second opinion and work that I don't believe I ever needed before having my teeth and gums scraped so aggressively. I asked on another forum for others experiences, and despite the high Google rating, others commented they too had a not so pleasant experience. I recommend finding another place that is less aggressive and more compassionate to get care from.

I had a great experience during my first visit to Prairie Hawk Dental. Jeanette, the hygienist, was very personable and knowledgeable. I was particularly impressed that the team addressed all the questions I had listed on my intake form during my appointment. The level of care and attention to detail throughout the visit was excellent. Dr. Goodman was kind and thorough. I highly recommend Prairie Hawk Dental to others.

New patient. Great experience. The office is clean, well-run, and on time. The front desk team was friendly and efficient at check-in and scheduling. The hygienist was thorough and gentle, explained everything in plain terms, and made the appointment comfortable start to finish. The dentist made straightforward recommendations and answered all my questions without rushing. They use technology that makes the X-rays easy to understand instead of just a fuzzy picture. They can also do permanent crowns in a single visit, which makes it much easier to plan than the usual multiple dental visits and wearing a temp crown for weeks.

Our family has been going to Dr. Young for about 15 years, and we truly couldn’t ask for a better dental experience! Every visit—whether it’s our regular six-month checkups or an occasional in-between appointment—is consistently excellent. Amanda is absolutely wonderful and does an amazing job with cleanings. She’s always so gentle, thorough, and makes the whole experience comfortable and stress-free. The entire team at Prairie Hawk Dental is friendly, professional, and truly cares about their patients. We’re so grateful to have such a fantastic dental office taking care of our family. Highly recommend!
