About Project Vida Dental Clinics

Based on Maxwell Avenue in the Restlawn area of El Paso, Texas, Project Vida Dental Clinics is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. My daughter's appointment was originally scheduled over the phone at the East Montana clinic. The day before the appointment, I called to confirm the address and was told it had actually been scheduled at the Northeast clinic, and that the pediatrician would be there. Our appointment was at 10:40 a.m., and I arrived around 10:20 a.m. I signed in on the iPad and waited. Several patients arrived after us, signed in the same way, and were called back well before we were. We weren't taken to the back until around 12:20 p.m., which is an unacceptable wait time, especially with a young child. During the visit, I was also asked to complete the same paperwork multiple times, which made the entire process feel very disorganized. The biggest issue was that the pediatrician wasn't even at the clinic. Instead, we were connected through a video call, and after waiting nearly two hours, I was told to come back the next day because my daughter couldn't be properly evaluated through telehealth. The pediatrician herself even seemed surprised by the staff's mistake and explained that she works from home on Tuesdays and is only physically at the East Montana clinic on Mondays. This made it clear that the staff either failed to communicate internally or scheduled the appointment without understanding the provider's availability. That was incredibly frustrating. I had already spent time and money on gas to get there, only to find out this information after the fact. This should have been communicated before the appointment so I could have planned accordingly. My daughter also needed her 15-month vaccinations. Unfortunately, the nurse administering them appeared very nervous and unsure of the process, which did not inspire confidence as a parent. Finally, I was asked to pay at the end of the visit. I have no issue paying for medical care, but it would have been appreciated if the payment expectations had been explained before the appointment rather than after everything had already taken place. Overall, this clinic seems to struggle with organization and communication. Between the scheduling confusion, excessive wait time, repeated paperwork, the provider not being on-site, the lack of communication about the telehealth limitations, and the overall experience, I left feeling very disappointed. I hope the clinic takes steps to improve staff training, communication, and scheduling practices so other families don't have the same experience.

It's a nice clinic with nice people. They take insurance. It can be difficult to get the billing straight and get messages through to your doctor regarding prescription refills.

Edit: Dr Garza sent me a cease and desist today. I highly recommend her if you want legal threats. This is what happened and my honest review of all 3 clinics. Just because she doesn’t like the truth doesn’t make it any less true. My husband and therapist would be happy to testify because I cried after every appointment about how horribly I was treated and told them both everything. My therapist took extensive notes and saved my life by encouraging me to leave. I trusted Garza because she was a woman. Now look what she is trying to do to her former psych patient because of honest google reviews. I had to suffer and now she’s scared of a google review? That should tell you everything. “Your postpartum will get better in a couple of months on its own if we do nothing” - Dr Cynthia Garza. I had already been seeing her for adhd, anxiety, and CPTSD. When it got worse she literally blamed me for not doing enough work in therapy. This was when my therapist started begging me to see someone else. She always told me I was her “favorite patient”. I trusted her, and it almost took my life.

I went with my husband so he could get his tooth worked in, we are new patients. I asked to make an appointment and they refused me an appointment because according to them they didn’t have any availabilities, yet they were giving appointments to everyone else. When I asked them about that they said that they were already established and that they didn’t have August open yet. This is the first doctor’s office that I have ever heard of refusing an appointment to someone because they don’t have August open yet for new patients. They expect you to be calling everyday to see if they have availability. That is the worst customer service ever. Their regulations need to be changed because if not changed they will lose patients.

I give a 5 Star rating to the doctors and the dental assistant staff in the back. They are very friendly, kind, and attentive. I’ve always been treated excellent and very happy with the dental work. The staff at the reception desk not so great service. Lacking basic customer skills. Overall, the clinic is very clean and they still follow COVID-19 protocols. They seem to stay booked months in advance so prepare to wait to get an appointment and/or get rescheduled. It’s definitely worth the wait for the price and the excellent dental work.
