About PV Smiles Reem Kidess

PV Smiles Reem Kidess is a dental practice on North Scottsdale Road in the South Scottsdale area of Scottsdale, Arizona. Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. Frequently Asked Questions

What services does PV Smiles Reem Kidess offer?

What sedation options are available at the dentist?
Commonly inhaled sedation, oral sedatives taken beforehand, and intravenous sedation for more involved cases. They differ in depth and in how long the effects last, so what is offered depends on the treatment and the practice.
Will I be unconscious under dental sedation?
Usually not. Most dental sedation leaves you conscious but deeply relaxed, often with little memory of the procedure afterward. General anaesthesia, where you are fully unconscious, is reserved for specific circumstances.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

Everyone is professional and amazing. I have sensitive teeth, but I don’t feel a thing when Tracie is cleaning them. I joke with my wife that it feels more like a spa trip than a dentist office.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Kidess for seven years, and the care has been exceptional every single time. Dr Kidess is outstanding - highly skilled, gentle, and consistently attentive-and I always feel confident in the quality of treatment I receive. The entire staff is equally impressive: professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They all communicate clearly, explain procedures thoroughly, and create an environment where patients feel comfortable and well supported. The office is clean, modern, and efficiently run, with appointments that start on time and a team that treats patients with kindness and respect. I’m extremely satisfied with my experience here and recommend this practice wholeheartedly.

Dr Kidess is the best dentist I have ever had. The entire staff is excellent. They use the latest technology and the overall experience is wonderful. I really like that they make your crowns in their office. You’re in and out in no time at all. I’ve moved to Mesa since I first started going to Dr Kidess. I gladly drive the 45 minutes to be seen by her and her staff!

Dr. Kidess is the best dentist I’ve ever had. Her and her team at PV Smiles are extremely professional, thorough and high tech. They also provide the least painful in office whitening services I’ve ever had. Cannot recommend PV Smiles enough!

I have such a great experience every time I visit this dental office. The staff is incredibly welcoming, patient, and kind, and they make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. The doctor is amazing and always takes the time to explain everything clearly while making sure you feel completely at ease. I truly feel cared for here and highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dentist.

I've been with Dr. Kidess since she took over the practice. PV Smiles has always been excellent, but under Dr. Kidess, they modernized and provide many more care options including custom crowns via Cerec. In addition, they offer full anesthesia treating even people with extreme fear of dental procedures. For those of us without such trepidation, the staff is highly competent, very courteous, and far more accommodating than any other busness. Highly recommend both PV Smiles and Dr. Kidess, as well as Tracy RDH, for general cleanings. I'll keep coming back here until they all retire.
