About Reger Family Dental

Reger Family Dental provides dental care on Rough Rider Drive in the Northeast Side area of Windcrest, Texas. A family dental practice sees a range of ages under one roof, which for most households means fewer separate appointments across different offices. It typically covers routine checkups and restorative treatment for both children and adults, with referrals out for anything requiring specialist training.

A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.

Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. Dr Reger is a gifted dentist who combines expertise, excellence and charm to make him one of the best in his field. His staff ie equally amazing. Diane at the front desk, Stacy in charge of cleaning and Elizabeth helping Dr Reger are all so personable and helpful, and each one makes every customer feel special. Dental appointments are no longer to be dreaded because this group is my A Team. I’ll never go anywhere else even though I llive about 60 miles from his office. Thank you, Reger Dentistry….you’re the best.

The entire staff from receptionist, dental hygienist, to Dr Reger were extremely nice. For this reason, it took me a very long time to listen to the little voice telling me that something wasn’t right. The issues I encountered were as follows: 1. Poor quality dental “appliances” that were made in-house. Specifically, a prescribed night guard and an elective dental whitening tray. The night guard was extremely difficult to get on and off and caused my teeth to be sore and loose in the morning. And, I could not keep my mouth closed, which interfered with my CPAP! Dr. Reger adjusted it, but ultimately it was an unnecessary appliance. This was determined, as I had suspected, by my new Dentist. The whitening trays were extremely flimsy and the end that wraps around the back of the teeth was missing on one side. In addition, the syringes of whitening gel were provided without caps. So, once cut open, a lot of product was lost as it dried up between uses. I have had one of these before. This one was not of good quality. 2. I believe that unnecessary procedures were performed. 3. Poor construction of a crown. There was a pie shaped space left between the crown and the adjacent tooth, making a pocket for food to get trapped. The subsequent Dentist had to removed, redesign and replace the crown in question. What an ordeal. I wish I had listened to my gut feeling and changed Dentists sooner. Again, everyone is uber friendly, but I found that to be true at my new Dentist office as well!

I have been going to Dr. Reger for probably a decade now and the service has always been top-notch. The staff is unbelievable, so friendly, and engaging. They do all their services well, and one thing that stands out to me is I have had to make several unscheduled visits and was able to be seen with either that day or no later than the following day. Simply outstanding!

I have been going to Dr. Reger for years. The staff is wonderful, caring and take their time to ensure my concerns are addressed. For a cleaning I’m usually in and out quickly which is always nice. It’s a small office and the staff always remember me each visit, I feel like a part of the family! Such a wonderful place to entrust the care of my teeth!
