About Restoral Dental

Full-arch implant work is a different discipline from replacing a single tooth, and practices that concentrate on it tend to be built around a protocol rather than a menu. Restoral Dental on West Pine Street, on the downtown side of Lafayette in 70501, is one of those. The focus is patients near the end of the road with their natural teeth: advanced periodontal disease, a mouth of failing crowns and root-treated stumps, or a lower denture that has never once been stable. What they are deciding is whether to keep patching or move to a fixed, implant-supported arch.

That decision usually comes down to three things: how much bone is left, how much of the transition you are willing to live through, and what you can finance. Removable dentures cost the least up front and can be delivered fastest, but they rest on gum tissue that keeps resorbing underneath them, so the fit drifts over the years. A fixed arch anchored on implants keeps loading the bone and never comes out, though it demands enough bone volume at the placement sites and a longer, more surgical process.

Anyone quoting a single price for full-arch treatment without first taking a scan has not yet looked at your case.

The practice built its planning around 3D CBCT imaging and digital intraoral scans, a workflow it calls the Restoral Smile Protocol. Surgery is guided from the scan data, the case is designed digitally, and an in-house lab running milling and 3D printing produces the restoration on site. The stated aim is to reduce grafting where anatomy allows and to complete most cases in a single surgical visit rather than a sequence of them. Dr. Tommy G. Hillman, an LSU dental graduate, founded the practice and has been placing implants for the better part of four decades. Full sedation is available with a certified anesthesiologist present, which matters when multiple extractions and placements are combined into one sitting.

Weekday hours run 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. The West Pine Street address puts the office closer to the older northern half of the city than to the Ambassador Caffery corridor where most Lafayette dental practices cluster, which helps if you are driving in from Breaux Bridge or Opelousas and adds a few minutes if you live south of Kaliste Saloom. Financing is offered and insurance may cover part of the surgical or restorative components, though rarely a whole arch. Ask what a quote includes, since extractions, the temporary and the final prosthesis are frequently priced separately.

Restoral Dental concentrates on full-arch implant reconstruction for patients whose remaining teeth are failing. Planning runs on 3D CBCT and digital intraoral scans, surgery is guided from the scan, and an in-house lab with milling and 3D printing produces the restoration on site, an approach aimed at reducing grafting and finishing most cases in one surgical visit. Founder Dr. Tommy G. Hillman is an LSU graduate with close to four decades of implant work. Full sedation is available with a certified anesthesiologist present.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Restoral Smile Protocol?
It is the practice's planning workflow. A 3D CBCT scan and digital intraoral scans are taken first, the surgery is then guided from that data, and the case is designed digitally and produced in the in-house lab, which runs milling and 3D printing on site. The stated aims are to avoid grafting where the anatomy permits and to finish most cases in one surgical visit rather than across several separate appointments.
Is a fixed implant arch better than a removable denture?
Better for some situations, not all. A fixed arch is anchored to implants, never comes out, and keeps loading the bone, which slows the resorption that gradually loosens a denture. It also requires adequate bone volume at the implant sites and costs substantially more. A removable denture is quicker and cheaper at the outset but changes fit over the years and needs relining. A scan tells you which option is realistic for your jaw.
Can I be sedated for multiple extractions and implants in one visit?
Full sedation is available with a certified anesthesiologist present, which is what makes combining several extractions and implant placements into one appointment feasible here. Having a dedicated anesthesia provider means the surgeon is not also monitoring your sedation. You will need a driver and pre-operative fasting instructions, and any medications or medical conditions should be disclosed well before the appointment date rather than on the morning.

My story began last yr, when chemo was a necessary treatment, which caused tooth loss. Difficult health issues occurred, preventing any dental visits for over a yr. As my health began to improve, I started my search for a dentist. I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Hillman and staff. NO shaming or embarrassment involved, all they truly wanted was to help me. Time was taken to ensure the right fit, shape and color of my dentures. They made SURE that I was happy! AND BOY AM I HAPPY! The experience at Restoral Dental has been life changing for me and I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hillman and staff! Oh, and their prices are the best! I hope this review will encourage others to not be afraid and go for it! My sincere thanks to Restoral Dental!

Awesome place to go get dental work. The staff is so amazing and makes you feel like family. I totally recommend this place. Zahia Cormier was awesome when attending to my husband. Erik and Diamond made us feel welcomed. The doctor also was amazing. The guy who made the dentures is a beast and knows what he is doing. This is not a paid review. This is our Honest Review!
