About River Landing Dentistry at Daniel Island

Five dentists work out of the Daniel Island office: Dr. Rebeca Zechmann, Dr. Ravi Patel, Dr. Otto Czechner, Dr. Matthew Thomas and Dr. Olessya Bobrova. That roster is the practical reason River Landing Dentistry can hold a chair open from 7:30am to 7:30pm four days a week and still run Friday and Saturday mornings. A solo practice cannot cover that span. The trade is the familiar one for a group: wide availability and in-house coverage for implants, periodontics and sedation, but you may not see the same face every time unless you request a specific provider when you book.

Implants are the heavier work here, and the question to settle at the consultation is not the post but what it is being asked to support. A single missing molar takes one implant and one crown. Several missing teeth in a row can go either way, as separate implants or as two posts carrying a bridge, which costs less but joins the teeth together for cleaning purposes. A full arch is a different category again. Bone volume drives all of it, because the jaw shrinks where a tooth has been absent for years, and a graft to rebuild it adds months and cost before a post can even be placed. Ask for the plan in writing, staged by phase.

Sedation is offered for people whose avoidance has become the real clinical problem. Worth being blunt about what it does: it removes the anxiety and blurs the memory of the appointment, but it is not a substitute for local anesthetic, which is still used to numb the tooth. The deeper options require a driver. Around that sit crowns, dentures, root canal therapy, wisdom teeth removal, TMJ and TMD care, snoring and sleep apnea appliances, whitening, bonding, veneers and gum grafting.

145 River Landing Drive sits in the Daniel Island town center, minutes from Credit One Stadium and straightforward to reach off I-526 from either Mount Pleasant or North Charleston. For Daniel Island and Cainhoy residents it is the closest full-service option. Anyone coming from West Ashley or James Island will find the bridge traffic makes the practice's North Charleston or Mount Pleasant offices the more sensible pick. Evening slots are the reason most people choose this location, so they fill furthest ahead.

A five-dentist Daniel Island practice covering family, cosmetic and implant work in house, with sedation for anxious patients and periodontal treatment on site. Weeknight appointments run until 7:30pm and Friday and Saturday mornings are open, which is unusual for this side of the harbor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How late is the Daniel Island office open?
Weeknight appointments at 145 River Landing Drive run until 7:30pm Monday through Thursday, and Friday and Saturday mornings are open from 8am to 2pm. Having five dentists on the schedule is what makes that span workable. Evening and Saturday slots are the most requested at any practice that offers them, so plan on booking two to three weeks out rather than expecting one next week.
Will I be unconscious during sedation dentistry?
Not at the sedation levels most dental offices provide. Nitrous oxide leaves you awake but relaxed and clears within minutes. Oral sedation makes you drowsy and hazy, and many people remember little afterwards, but you can still respond to instructions. In both cases local anesthetic is still injected to numb the tooth itself, because sedation manages anxiety rather than pain. For oral sedation you will need someone to drive you.
Why do some implant cases take close to a year?
Because of everything that has to happen before the post goes in. If the tooth is still in place it comes out first, and the socket needs time to heal. If the jawbone has shrunk where a tooth has been missing for years, a graft has to be placed and given several months to mature. Only then can the implant be placed, and it needs its own fusion period before the crown is fitted.

I was very hesitant about going to a new dentist as I went to another office for over 10 years. I found out they no longer took my insurance, was very disappointed, but that’s what we deal with these days. I went to my provider’s website to find a provider in my area that took my insurance. After looking at a few and their ratings, I choose this one, even though hardly any google ratings. I was all over the place in my mind about venturing out. I walk in the office of River Landing Dentistry, the atmosphere was welcoming from the front dest to the back where I got my tooth cleaned, X-rays, passing other staff in the hall everyone was nice. Dr Thomas, got my 5 stars on the first visit , I was a little embarrassed because I haven’t had my tooth cleaned in 2 years, but that was no big thing to any of them, didn’t make me feel ashamed. Took time to listen to my concerns, review the X-rays and the. We spoke about my options for my missing teeth. A doctor who appears to be excited about his job. First visit and they have 5+stars from me. Viola S.

River Landing Dentistry was phenomenal! Everyone was kind, welcoming, and friendly from the moment I walked in. Dr. Patel was amazing—he made me feel completely comfortable throughout my visit. When it came time to remove my wisdom tooth, the procedure was smooth, and I felt absolutely no pain. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend River Landing Dentistry to anyone looking for quality dental care and excellent service

I have had a wonderful experience at River Landing Dentistry. My dentist and hygienist were extremely professional, great at their jobs, and actually made me feel comfortable when I’m usually extremely nervous at the dentist! The dentist explained everything in detail, stopped periodically to check how I was doing, and made me feel that he actually cared about me. I would encourage anyone with a fear of the dentist to make an appointment at this office!

Had a root canal on a front tooth that has a crown 30 years old. Was super nervous the crown would not hold up. Chose anesthesia and Kevin was super personable and professional. Dr Kramer was amazing. Master skill level and outstanding personality. Root canal went perfect and crown in tact. Highly recommend this office!

I had such a great experience with Alana! She made me feel so comfortable throughout my cleaning and took the time to explain everything clearly. She was incredibly knowledgeable and gave me helpful recommendations for improving my dental care at home. You can really tell she cares about her patients and wants them to feel comfortable! I truly appreciated her kindness and this was definitely the best experience I’ve ever had at the dentist! I highly recommend Alana!
