About Rivertown Dental Care

A general practice earns its keep on range. The address at 2514 Warm Springs Road is the kind a household ends up using for everything at once — the six-month cleaning, a child's first sealant, the crown that finally has to be cut, the extraction nobody planned for — and Rivertown Dental Care lists a menu wide enough to cover most of that without sending you across Columbus for each stage.

The list runs from preventive care and children's dentistry through gum disease treatment, root canals, extractions, crowns, bridges, dentures and implants, and on into cosmetic work: whitening, veneers and clear aligners. Full mouth rehabilitation is offered, which is the label for cases where the bite itself has to be rebuilt rather than a single tooth repaired. Emergency dentistry is listed too. Hours run Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., then Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. That early Friday opening is the genuinely useful part of the timetable if you are trying to be seen before work.

A short explanation of the two most frequently booked treatments on that list belongs in front of the decision rather than after it. A root canal removes inflamed or infected pulp from inside the tooth, disinfects the canal system and seals it; the tooth stays in the jaw but loses its blood supply, which is why a back tooth treated this way usually needs a crown afterwards to stop it splitting under load. In that situation the crown is structural rather than cosmetic, and skipping it is the most common reason a successfully treated tooth is still lost a year or two later.

On money, treat any headline figure with suspicion until it is itemised. Ask whether a quoted implant price includes the extraction, the graft, the abutment and the crown, or only the fixture in the bone. Ask the office directly which plans it is in network with before the first appointment rather than after, because network status changes what you actually pay far more than the sticker price does, and ask what arrangements exist for work that runs across several months.

If something has already gone wrong, call early in the day and describe the symptom precisely: swelling, throbbing that wakes you, pain triggered by heat rather than cold, or a tooth that suddenly feels taller than the ones beside it. Those details are what the front desk uses to judge how urgently you need to be seen, and they carry more weight than the word emergency on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get seen quickly for a dental emergency?
Call as early in the day as you can and be specific about the symptom. Facial swelling, throbbing that wakes you at night, pain triggered by heat, or a tooth that suddenly feels taller than its neighbours all point to different levels of urgency, and that is what decides how quickly you are fitted in. Emergency dentistry is part of the service list here, but capacity on any given day is finite, so morning calls fare better than afternoon ones.
What should I ask before agreeing to an implant quote?
Ask for it itemised. A single number may or may not include the extraction, bone grafting, the implant fixture, the abutment, the crown and the follow-up visits, and two offices quoting different scopes cannot be compared honestly. Ask which insurance plans the practice is in network with, and what arrangements exist for spreading payment across treatment that will run over several months rather than a single appointment.
Why does this office open at seven on Fridays?
Friday is the short day here: doors open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m., while Monday through Thursday run 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The early start exists for people who cannot give up a working morning, which means hygiene visits and short restorative appointments tend to fill it first. If your treatment needs a long chair time, a mid-morning weekday slot is usually easier to arrange than a Friday one.

I live 4 1/2 hours away and I’ve been going to the dentist where I live and I kept telling the Dentist where I live that my mouth was hurting on the left side and he told me it was all in my head Dr. O’Neill‘s staff got me in when I was up in Auburn at the last minute and they looked at my mouth and he said he was there to work on 23 and asked me if that was correct I said yes but the left side of my mouth is the side that is hurting. Will you see if you see anything wrong over there and I explained to him that the doctor In Mobile had told me it was all in my head. There was nothing wrong and Dr O’Neill worked on the tooth and saw that the whole tooth had rotted and he took care of it. He didn’t ball. He didn’t say no I’m here to work on tooth number three as my dentist In Mobile would have said your staff was just amazing all the way from Angie. I don’t know the young girl super super nice. She was filling in for someone and Dr O’Neill. I could never say enough good things I’ll be continuing to drive back every time. I have a dental appointment for five hours there in five hours back because no one can beat the care at your office.

Amazingly, I actually don’t mind going to the dentist and that’s saying something for me. But my dental hygienist is just good at what she does and so kind it makes it all okay.

Long-time patient of Dr. O'neill and he’s fantastic. I was very traumatized by a dentist in Europe years ago, but Dr. O'neill was so capable and patient that he helped me get over most of my fear. The assistants are awesome and super nice. I highly recommend if you want a skilled dentist who actually cares.

I had a great experience at Rivertown Dental and would definitely recommend them. From the moment I walked in, everyone was welcoming, polite, and very helpful. The entire staff made me feel comfortable. Kendall cleaned my teeth and did an excellent job. She was very thorough and explained everything clearly so I understood what was being done. I left my appointment with no questions or concerns and felt well taken care of. Overall, the service was excellent and I would give them a 10/10. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
