About Ruby Dental Group
Based on Jenifer Street Northwest in the Northwest Washington area of Washington, District of Columbia, Ruby Dental Group is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. EDIT: The owner actually left an insanely nasty response before it was edited! But, I booked with them because this dentist was listed ON MY INSURANCE CARD as my assigned dentist. I'd be more than happy to show anyone a copy of it too :) 10000% double check your insurance/paperwork. At the time of my visit, both the doctor and assistant happily took Medicaid. Now I am being served a $400 bill for a BASIC CLEANING(!) without X-rays, they are hounding me that they no longer accept Medicaid, and did not accept it at the time of the appointment. The dentist is cheap and does not have a proper front desk, billing practice, or policies and procedures in place. You cannot even call the office to schedule/contact billing without leaving a voicemail. Incredibly scammy behavior. I wouldn't even mind paying for the cleaning out of pocket if it wasn't $400 for work that a dental assistant performed. Disgusting behavior from an essential healthcare worker in the #1 country's capital.
She is a real tooth fairy! Always has a smile on her face and she makes sure to put one on your’s 😃. Very good listener, possess a strong clinical skill set, very gentle & patient with her patients.
They charged me over 7 thousands dollars and the hygienist assistant completed the entirety of the procedure. The dentists are misleading, checked out, and unavailable. Overall, my procedures were rushed and inexperienced with no follow up, and additional charges for items that were never provided. The whole team is burnt out, and it causes sloppy work. They permanently damaged my front teeth and acted nonchalant. I thought because this facility is located in Washington DC they would be held to higher expectations.
I’ve been coming here for years and can’t recommend this practice enough!!! Dr. Ruby is fantastic! She’s funny, personable, and truly passionate about keeping my teeth healthy. She makes every visit comfortable and stress-free!! 😁🦷🪥
Our family has been visiting Ruby Dental for over 10 years and love it. They are extremely patient with our children, handle all the insurance paperwork, and are very efficient with documents. Also my sons had braces and retainers and the long process was handled with care.
