About Sage Dental Care

Sage Dental Care provides dental care on Arapahoe Road in Erie, Colorado. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window. Well, this place was great a couple years ago when the dentists shown on the site were actually there. Since that time, here have been my experiences: Repeated, persistent, unstoppable cals from AI to schedule multiple times a day for months. Made an appt with a female dentist, and when I got there, a male dentist not shown on the site was who saw me and she hasn;t worked there for 2 years. They took my insurance card (did not return it) and failed to bill my insurance. I keep getting bills for $400 for an exam and cleaning that are covered. I have left 3 voicemails that they have not returned. No one answers the phone. I'm pretty sure the entire office is run by AI and no one has any idea what they're doing. In the meantime, I'm left with this bill that I shouldn't have and no way to communicate with anyone. I'll be reporting this practice to the BBB and anyone else I can think of. Steer clear.

I had a very disappointing experience with Sage Dental Lafayette/Erie office. Before receiving treatment, I was told that my insurance would cover the services. Later, I was unexpectedly billed for charges that I had specifically asked about beforehand. Trying to get clarification about the fees was incredibly frustrating. It took nearly a month of repeated phone calls and emails before anyone responded, and it was almost impossible to speak with someone who could actually explain the charges. Scheduling was an even bigger problem. The office repeatedly canceled or changed my appointments without notifying or confirming with me first. When I tried to reschedule, it became a nightmare. The scheduling is handled through a central call center, so the staff often had no context about my situation and were unable to help. On top of that, the scheduling representatives were consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Between the poor communication, lack of transparency with billing, constant scheduling issues, and unfriendly customer service, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a healthcare provider. I would not recommend this office if you value clear communication, respect for your time, and honest billing practices.

Edit: it has been over a week since my review. I have sent more emails and left voicemails and still gotten absolutely no response. Save yourself the pain, stress, and frustration and choose LITERALLY ANY OTHER DENTIST. I have had nothing but terrible experiences with Sage since their business changed hands. A simple crown has taken more than 6 weeks to heal and is still painful daily. Sage told me that this was normal. After said appointment, I was told I was paid in full and was good to go by both the receptionist and Sunny. Two weeks later, I start getting notices about a mystery bill unassociated with any charges that I was informed of- after all, I was explicitly told I owed nothing at the end of my last appointment. I called and asked for more information on May 11. It is June 1 now and I have not heard from them at all. I wasn't going to write this review when this all happened in May, but after their lack of response I think others deserve to know about their lack of professionalism in every single aspect of their business.

Absolutely fantastic dentist 🦷 I had a crown done, very professional and friendly. I have dental anxiety pretty bad and this place was recommended by Grok Ai as the best I was not disappointed in quality or price. It was half the cost of my previous dentist’s quote. Thank you Sage! 😊

Questionable billing practices: I recently had dental work done at Sage Dental and was charged a rate higher than what was published in my dental plan. The base rate was marked up on the invoice, which ended up negating the 20% discount that was offered in the plan. I questioned it at the front desk and they said the office manager would get back to me but she never did. On my next visit, I provided printouts from the website and asked again if someone could please just explain why I was billed at a higher rate. I was told that my request had been passed to the office manager but still never heard back. I contacted the dental plan provider and they confirmed that my interpretation was correct based upon the procedure codes on the bill, so I emailed the office requesting an explanation – twice. I then wondered if they just had a bad employee, so decided to snail mail a request for an explanation directly to Dr. Llorente, but still no response. If you’re billing people honestly, why wouldn’t you respond to a legitimate question like this?

Hands down one of the best Dental teams around, they are always making sure I am comfortable and have everything I need. I am usually anxious when going to the dentist, but I look forward to my trips to Sage Dental!!! Will recommend every time!!

Update: I do not recommend this dental office. I had cavities filled here three separate times, and after each visit I experienced severe pain that lasted for months. I eventually sought a second opinion and was told the filling had been drilled too deep and had reached the nerve, which required a root canal to fix. There has been no accountability for what happened, and I am now being billed an additional $20. I’ve asked for this charge to be removed from my account. Unfortunately, the work done here has caused significant damage to my tooth and led to further dental procedures.
