About Sakowitz Smiles Orthodontics Dr. Phillips (Orlando)

Sakowitz Smiles Orthodontics Dr. Phillips (Orlando) operates on West Sand Lake Road in Orlando, Florida. Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. I can’t thank Carlos and Maria enough for taking such great care of my daughter. While we were out of town, a wire on her braces came loose, and they were incredibly kind, accommodating, and quick to help-especially on a late Friday afternoon. Their professionalism, compassion, and outstanding customer service truly put our minds at ease. We are so grateful for the excellent care they provided and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an orthodontic team that genuinely cares! Thank you so much, Carlos and Maria!🫶

I took my son to see Dr Sakowitz for an evaluation of an acute issue with his lower retainer. The office was able to coordinate a time to see my son on an emergency basis, scheduled him within 24 hours, diagnosed and solved the issue promptly and professionally. Every interaction we had with staff, including the front desk, practice manager, hygienist was delightful. They are kind and caring people. Dr Sakowitz was not the orthodontist we typically see because we are recently transplants to Orlando and the retainer solution was initially installed by an orthodontist from our hometown of Columbus. This situation of Dr Sakowitz agreeing to sort of jump into an unknown problem with an unknown patient is not typical. In the world of orthodontia, it is above and beyond in many ways. And, his skill and diagnostics/imaging brought to light the problem and it was also solved right in the office. Dr S was patient, reviewing my son’s global orthodontic situation, then determining the best course forward and didn’t have us ‘reschedule’ for another time to solve the problem…rather he efficiently requested that we be brought from the office to the hygienist’s chair to work on James and solve the acute issue at that moment. Thank you to Dr Sakowitz and his team for helping this Ohio soccer player kiddo be relieved. You made a positive impression on our family that is worth sharing with the community.

I have been an Invisalign patient at this dental office for about seven weeks. Lately, my teeth feel very loose, and I’ve noticed gum recession, which is causing me significant discomfort. I requested an urgent appointment to address this, but I was told the earliest available appointment is in two weeks. When I explained the severity of my situation again, I was simply advised not to wear my trays until the appointment. I find this response concerning. As a patient who still has two more years of Invisalign treatment, I expected to be treated with professionalism and urgency, especially when experiencing symptoms that could indicate serious dental issues.

I had the pleasure of going to Dr. Sakowitz for a few years now. I’ve had a root canal done, an Invisalign treatment, gingivitis cured and my cavities filled. Not only is the staff friendly, kind and create a comfortable environment for all (Especially if you have a fear of getting teeth work done) but the work itself has always been high quality where you do not have to constantly get it fixed/refixed. I’ve had braces done when I was a teen but they did not last. I currently reside in Austin, TX and always find a time to book an appointment whenever I visit my hometown of Orlando, FL. Do not hesitate to get any dental work done here as it is crème de la creme. The work is so good that it will have you cheesing anytime and at anyplace. (Yoga studio for me)

I went into Sakowitz smiles orthodontics for a routine check up and possibly some smile correction. First of all I was very pleased with the atmosphere of the office and staff. Everyone was very friendly and Dr. Sakowitz was so informative. She really knows her craft! I've had braces in the past and it was a lot more than what I want to deal with right now, so the Doc got me signed up for an invisalign plan and I'm so excited to get started! I give Sakowitz Smiles 10 out of 10!

My treatment was completed slightly ahead of schedule, and I am thrilled with how straight and beautiful my teeth look now. It’s been a transformative experience, boosting my confidence more than I could imagine. I highly recommend Sakowitz Smiles Orthodontics to anyone considering Invisalign. The comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and outstanding results make it the best choice for orthodontic care. Thank you, Dr. Sakowitz and team, for such a positive and life-changing experience!
