About San Antonio Smile Pros

Hildebrand Avenue crosses the middle of San Antonio between San Pedro and Broadway, and Suite 200 at 235 East Hildebrand puts San Antonio Smile Pros within a few blocks of Trinity University, Brackenridge Park and the Olmos Park line. If you live in Monte Vista, Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills or Tobin Hill, this is one of the rare specialist practices you can reach without touching a highway. The hours are the most consistent in this part of town: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no split days or alternating Fridays to track.

Dr. Fawzi Hijazi works at the prosthodontic end of dentistry, rebuilding teeth rather than simply repairing them, with periodontal and restorative treatment alongside. Denture work shows where that training earns its keep. A denture that fits is not carved from a single impression; it is built in stages, with a preliminary impression, a custom tray, a border-molded final impression that records how your cheeks and tongue actually move, a bite registration, and a wax try-in you look at and speak with before anything is processed. Skip stages and you get a plate that looks acceptable on the model and rocks in the mouth. The same staged logic governs implant-supported dentures, where two to six implants turn a loose lower plate into something that stays where you put it.

The wider menu covers single implants and bone grafting, extractions and oral surgery, crowns and bridges, veneers, whitening, and full-mouth rehabilitation for patients whose wear, decay or ageing dentistry has reached the point where fixing one tooth at a time no longer makes sense. Sedation is available for longer visits.

Worth knowing before you call: this is a rebuild-oriented practice, so a first appointment tends to be weighted toward records, photographs and a written sequence rather than immediate treatment. For complicated cases that is exactly the point. The plan is the product, and the drilling comes after everyone agrees on what it is meant to achieve and in what order.

San Antonio Smile Pros occupies Suite 200 at 235 East Hildebrand Avenue, between San Pedro and Broadway and reachable from Monte Vista, Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills and Tobin Hill without using a highway. Dr. Fawzi Hijazi practices at the prosthodontic end of dentistry: complete and implant-supported dentures, single implants, bone grafting, crowns and bridges, veneers, oral surgery and full-mouth rehabilitation. Sedation is available for longer visits, and the office keeps the same 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. schedule every weekday.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at a first visit here?
Expect a records appointment rather than immediate treatment. Photographs, x-rays, impressions or a scan and a bite assessment come first, because the practice works in full-mouth sequences rather than tooth by tooth. You then get a written plan in phases, so you can see which problems are urgent, which are elective and where the cost falls. Straightforward emergencies are handled sooner, but reconstructive cases start with the plan.
Why do well-made dentures take several appointments?
Because a denture has to work against moving tissue, not just sit on a plaster cast. The sequence usually runs preliminary impression, custom tray, final border-molded impression, bite registration, wax try-in and then processing. The try-in is where you check the look, the lip support and how you speak before anything becomes permanent. Compressing that into one or two visits is what produces plates that photograph well and rock when you chew.
Can implants stop a lower denture from moving?
Usually, yes, and it is the single most reliable improvement available to denture wearers. Two to four implants in the lower jaw, with attachments in the denture base, convert a plate that floats into one that clicks into place, which changes what you can chew. Candidacy depends on bone height and general health, and a scan settles it. Upper dentures often gain more from palatal coverage than from implants, so the plan differs by arch.

The doctor is the best person in the world you could ever ask for. I have known and followed up with the doctor since 2017, I had an amazing experience at San Antonio Smile Pros. Everyone here is really sweet and caring. The work they did for me turned out fantastic. The office is nice, and they make you feel at ease the whole visit. Truly a great place for dental care; highly recommended!

I took my mother in law here, she is 84 years old and she had the most horrible experience that you can get at a dentist. I do not recommend coming here, run away! I took her in there for a tooth that was hurting her, and Dr. Hijazi recommended a crown and he had her going back and fourth 3-4x to the office, my mother in law was already frustrated by the last appointment but supposedly the work was done. But now as months have passed the same tooth started hurting her again, so she went to another dentist and that dentist told her she had an infection where Dr. Hijazi did the crown. She’s got on antibiotics and the pain went away and now it came back again after a few months. She went to see a different dentist who is saying that she has a new infection there and the tooth is no good anymore so now they have extracted that tooth now, thanks to that dentist. Her money went down the drain, a total of $3,500!

If you are looking for a dentist, look no further. From kids to grandparents. My experience with dental specialist FEWZI HIJAZI was excellent. Dr. Hijazi and assistant Veronica, from the moment I stepped into their office, were so polite, so gentle, and explained everything they were going to do before they started. Took time to answer any and all my questions. Did an excellent job on my teeth and dentures. Look no further .

Dr. Hijazi and his team took great care of my sister. Concierge level service from Day 1. She is extremely fearful of dentists and Dr. Hijazi earned her trust immediately. I highly encourage anyone looking for implants to visit San Antonio Smile Pros!
