About San Francisco Dental Partners | General, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry

Based on Battery Street in the Financial District area of San Francisco, California, San Francisco Dental Partners | General, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry is a dental practice serving the area. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. What services does San Francisco Dental Partners | General, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry offer?
Listed services at San Francisco Dental Partners | General, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry include Gum Disease Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
Can gum disease make you lose teeth?
Yes — advanced gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss in adults. It destroys the bone and fibres holding teeth in place, which is why teeth eventually loosen, and it usually progresses without pain.
Why do my gums bleed even though I brush twice a day?
Bleeding usually reflects where you are cleaning rather than how often. Plaque left along the gumline and between teeth causes inflammation there, which is exactly the area brushing alone tends to miss, so flossing or interdental brushes matter.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

I recently completed my Invisalign treatment and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The dental assistants were exceptionally friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, making me feel comfortable and well-informed throughout the entire process. Dr. Bhuva was attentive and thorough, taking the time to explain my dental concerns in detail and discuss all available treatment options. Her transparent, thoughtful, and knowledgeable approach gave me great confidence in the care I was receiving. The office is conveniently located and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which further reinforced the high standard of care provided. Scheduling appointments was easy and efficient, and the front desk staff were outstanding. They were always welcoming, organized, and accommodating, especially when helping coordinate appointments around my schedule. Overall, I had an excellent experience in every aspect of my care and highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking exceptional dental treatment and customer service.

I asked everyone I knew for dentist recommendations and got several from friends. I had a couple of difficult scheduling scenarios with other dental offices but had easy success at San Francisco Dental Partners. Dr. Bhuva and her team (David, Godfrey and the front desk crew) were all amazing! A great check up with thoughtful advice, a plan for a dental repair, a great gentle cleaning, fast kind service and straightforward cost information; what more could you want. Highly recommend.

I’ve been going to this office literally for decades. Their communication is excellent, and they are very responsive and flexible about scheduling appointments. Their dental hygienists are top-notch – always very gentle and friendly, while also seeming to be thorough. The more involved work I’ve had there has also always been great. I’ve never had a complication or any problems or follow up needed after getting cavities filled. And when they have referred me to others for more serious issues like root canals, those experience have been great too. I can’t recommend them enough.

I have been going to Dr. Young in San Francisco Dental Partners for about 2 years, and I highly recommend him. He is thorough and has light hands. He maintains a professional environment and I appreciate him taking his time answering all my questions. I am happy to have him as my dentist. The staff in the office are just as great, shout out to Laine who is always friendly and welcoming.

I recently switched to SF Dental Partners due to an insurance change to Delta Dental. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Bhuva and would highly recommend this place. She is empathetic, competent and prompt. I also had a similar experience during a cleaning appointment - the hygienist took time to diligently perform the cleaning and explain things well. And I left the clinic without being pushed into unnecessary treatment (which is far too common with dental clinics).
