Our family had a great experience with this office. They had great communication, the front and back office team were wonderful and the doctor was polite and empathetic.

I am grateful for all the doctors, assistants, and front desk staff that made my daughter’s surgery a good experience for her. She just had the surgery and she is doing better than expected. Thank you all!

Edit after business response: I HAVE tried contacting them x3 last week since they finally called back and it’s the same story. I HAVE called and emailed again. So it’s quite insulting for them to suggest I do that while my email sits unanswered in their inbox. All I asked for on the phone twice last week plus once in email is the address hours away they want me to go to instead of them calling, to see if the specialist referral for my urgent surgery wasn’t lost after a few months of silence. Have yet to receive the email back, so how ironic they give me their email again. Again, they responded to my review here before getting back to *me* Summary: one month for one call back, and none of the details nor urgent status had been passed along to the doc. He didn’t even know I had questions before today and it’s the 5th week/unforgivable given I tell the staff each time I’m in emergency pain/urgent. He left me a 10sec VM. It’s been 1 month of me calling twice a week, emailing once, one *in-person* plea with hand-delivered letter, and twice a week phone pleas with the staff: I have urgent questions that affect [the existence of]my treatment plan going forward & am in proven emergency pain (ER x4/5wks), I kept telling the staff this and today I find out… they never told the Dr I called nor why: that he has a patient with time sensitive urgent questions from this past month who explained why he needs to call back asap each time she talks with staff, etc. he was finally just told today “someone has treatment questions, non-urgent.” Trust: tanked, heart: broken. I literally told them I’d lost a tooth while waiting the last week alone, just to find out the doctor was surprised that apparently I had some questions about treatment😑 if I ever had suicidal ideations, it would be after hearing this. Bc of course I also missed his call somehow & he called back after-hours, cheerily saying I should call back if I still had questions 😐 let’s call it 3 weeks bc of course he was on vacation last week, but what professional office takes this long to respond to something marked urgent with the doctor not being told, I even said why it’s urgent, how I was afraid of not getting help, how certain treatment details might derail the whole thing, the plan needs to be changed , etc etc. so there’s nothing forgivable here that I see. I made it so simple at the end I turned it into two easy questions he could’ve answered in a VM. I thought he just was bad at getting back to me. I was so respectful too, you know how hard it was to only call twice a week cheerfully asking to be called back about time-sensitive information, knowing whatever they said over the phone, you’d probably have to call next week too as per habit? Sucks So yeah, urgent questions still unanswered from May 18. Let yall know if that ever changes or if they’ll explain/admit which would give me closure, mostly tho I just need the surgeon to know to update things immediately that would affect my insurance like the fact they couldn’t even tell him THAT part. Rude is an understatement lol, I’ll have to go there in-person tomorrow just to get service and it takes me two buses to get there. Also did they not think I would notice. I can’t eat solids since May 18th & this negligence has been really traumatic. I was in so much pain I couldn’t sit down for weeks.

I had the best experience with San Jose Oral Surgery and Implantology. My surgery was extraction of all 4 wisdom teeth, regardless of my nervousness the entire teeth made me feel at ease and the best past was that my face did not bruce. Thank you!!! 100% recommend this Dentist office

The staff is so Nice and ready to answer any & all concerned questions regarding procedure. All entire staff are very great, helpful and patient ready to explain and answer any questions on info you need for the after care treatment which is very important. Unfortunately due to an unexpected emergency that happened to me the morning of my procedure that had me running a few minutes late Dr was very understanding due to the circumstances and allowed my procedure to continue as scheduled and planned. I’m very grateful to have found such a Great Dentist, I would definitely recommend Dr Yu from San Jose Oral Surgery.

Very kind and professional staff. Explained everything to me and made sure I understood. Non judgmental and kind to my alternative style child. UPDATED REVIEW I made that review while I was sitting in the waiting room waiting for my daughter’s surgery to be over. I had asked several nurses to put a bandage on my daughter’s anti eyebrow piercing so it wouldn’t get snagged. Two nurses and the surgeon himself agreed. The surgeon had the nerve to sound annoyed when I asked him to. I had also placed clear plastic retainers in my daughter’s lip piercings so they wouldn’t close. We both explicitly explained to them that they would be fine and not to take them out. They would have been out of the way. Maybe about 20 to 30 minutes after I left her in the room I heard her boo hoo crying. I asked if that was my daughter and if I can go back to comfort her. The surgeon came out and gave me her retainer piercings in a medical bag and said “he had to remove them” A nurse came out after him and I asked if I can go back she asked the surgeon and he agreed. I went to the back The nurses and the surgeon were extremely confused as to why my daughter would be so upset. here surgeon let me know that family members in the back are a hit or miss. It could make their behavior worse or comfort them and make them better. It helped my daughter so I was able to stay. The nurses (except one, a young Hispanic looking girl with braces I didn’t catch her name) and doctor all seemed extremely annoyed with my 16 year old crying about the piercings and scolding for hem for agreeing to leave them in and then taking them out anyway. I know the surgeon will say that it was what he had to do because it would have gotten snagged or in the way. I have done it before and the doctor was able to accommodate me with surgical tape and bandages so that would not happen. And there was also a rubber lip cover in mine. We could have figured out a way to make it work. I would have done it myself for her if they didn’t want to. The communication was trash and our trust was completely broken. Which is why my daughter was so upset and crying afterwards. She was lied to and manipulated and the surgeon continued to do the surgery the way he saw fit. If it truly was that much of an issue we could have kept talking about it and he could explain why she couldn’t leave them in. At the end she asked for her teeth the nurse again was annoyed and went for the surgeon. He came back annoyed and explained that they were considered a bio hazard and he COULD NOT give them to us. That was another blatant lie it is not illegal for dentists to give their patients their teeth. We did what he asked within reason we paid $300 out of pocket because his “level of care” requires a ct scan that medi-cal does not pay for. We won’t be back here. And I will keep my review up. This was a constant violation of trust and boundaries where a minor child was appeased with lies, taken into surgery alone where her mom can’t advocate for her anymore, and got what she got. Maybe some people will think that we are being dramatic but if you can’t trust your doctor when you or your minor child are sedated what else is there?

I'd like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire San-Jose Oral Surgery and Implantology team. I had four wisdom teeth removed under intravenous anesthesia, and everything was as comfortable and safe as possible. I was closely monitored by the medical staff and doctors, who constantly checked in on my condition and made me feel completely confident. I'd also like to mention the girls at reception – they were very kind, attentive, and welcoming. It was a pleasure to interact with them from the very first moment you arrived at the clinic. Thank you to the entire team for their conscientious work, professionalism, and humane attitude. You make complex procedures much easier and more relaxing for patients. I recommend your clinic to everyone!
