About Scottsdale Implants and Periodontics - Braydon Haskell, DMD, MS

Scottsdale Implants and Periodontics - Braydon Haskell, DMD, MS operates on North Pima Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Placement is done under local anaesthetic, and most people compare the discomfort afterward to an extraction rather than something worse. Soreness for a few days is normal and usually manageable with standard pain relief.

The implant itself is designed to be permanent and frequently lasts decades. The crown attached to it is the part more likely to need replacing over time, and implants can still be lost to gum infection if cleaning is neglected.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr Haskell! He is an incredibly caring doctor that takes the time to make sure you understand the procedure and are comfortable. I had a gum transplant-not fun. But Dr Haskell understood my trepidation and that there were very few pain relievers I can take without triggering a migraine. He made sure that I was given something that would not affect me but still help with the pain. He also understood my fibromyalgia and how any type of procedure affects me. The gum transplant turned out perfect, and it really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be thanks to Dr. Haskell. Highly, highly recommend!!

Had a very pleasant experience with the team at Scottsdale implants and periodontics. Went in for initial consult and was greeted warmly by Kristi and Braydon. I had a crown lengthening procedure done and currently recovering. Overall satisfied with the procedure and waiting until im fully recovered over the next few months.

The Staff is friendly and professional. The office is clean and makes you feel comfortable. Dr Haskell makes sure you are comfortable and asks all questions appropriate to your care. He is careful to answer any and all questions, provide a comprehensive plan of care and ensure you understand. No high pressure! Now I wish the building and parking lot were better lit especially for 7AM appointments. First time there and not so easy to understand where to go.

Dr. Haskell knows his stuff! I appreciate the time he took to explain all my options. The day of the procedure went so smoothly with no issues or concerns, even through my recovery time at home.
