About Seacoast Periodontics & Dental Implants

Based on Cottage Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Seacoast Periodontics & Dental Implants is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. I saw Dr David Rosania for gum recession procedure. No one certainly wants to have this procedure and seems scary at first. But Dr. Rosania and his entire team were fantastic start to finish. The front desk team were always so warm and friendly as were the folks who worked with Dr Rosania for each of my visits. The procedure was quick and painless and my result is truly perfection. Dr Rosania has a warm and funny bedside manner and really puts patients at ease. He listens carefully and takes the time to answer all your questions. There were three follow up visits and I just had my final one today. While I’m hopeful never to go back I’m truly bummed I won’t get to interact with his entire team. Everyone has been so lovely. Highly recommend!!!

Can’t rave enough about Dr. David! I came in with some gum problems another dentist & periodontist couldn’t address and immediately Dr.David spotted the problem and course corrected so now I’m healing and progressing. Not only that he is so sweet addressing concerns I had or redoing X-rays free of charge since my other dentist wouldn’t respond to requests. Lastly, I recently got married & mentioned it in a scheduling email & they sent me a card, so sweet. Highly recommend!

Denise is an outstanding hygienist. She is thorough, gentle, and always makes me feel comfortable during my periodontal cleanings. I've been scheduling periodontal cleanings each year between my regular dental visits for extra preventive care, and it's been well worth it. Dr. Amy Rosania is exceptional! She does beautiful work, takes the time to explain everything, and genuinely cares about her patients. The entire office is professional, friendly, and provides excellent care. I highly recommend this practice.

I made an appointment to get a second opinion, and was treated very kindly and respectfully. The doctor examined my mouth, reviewed previous X-rays, and then thoroughly and understandably explained the dental issues I have and options I have. She gave her recommendations which I appreciate and agree with. I was given the time needed for the examination, diagnoses, and explanations. I waked away at ease knowing clearly what dental treatments I need. Thank you for your expertise and professionalism! I highly recommend Seacoast Periodontal!
