About Seal Beach Dental Implants and Periodontics

Seal Beach Dental Implants and Periodontics is a dental practice on Westminster Boulevard in the Leisure World area of Seal Beach, California. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Can a periodontist save a loose tooth?
Sometimes. If the looseness comes from bone loss around the tooth, deep cleaning and periodontal treatment can stabilise it, though the outcome depends on how much support has already been lost.
Do periodontists place dental implants?
Many do, since implant placement sits naturally alongside their training in the gum and bone that support teeth. Whether a specific practice offers it is worth confirming directly.
Why do dentists take X-rays?
Decay between teeth and problems below the gumline are invisible to the naked eye, so X-rays are what reveal them. Modern digital images use a low dose and are taken only when clinically justified.

Professional, Outstanding Performance and a Caring Organized Team. I wish I would have found them earlier. They said there might be some discomfort after having a extraction and three implants. I was ready for some discomfort, but didn't really have any pain or discomfort during and after the procedures. I wish I would have found them earlier !

Wonderful experience getting my dental implant procedure done. Dr. Aslam is great, very understanding, kind, and explains everything that will be done during the procedure. He went above and beyond, and even followed up me days after the procedure to check how I was doing. He is a very caring doctor. The staff as well is wonderful, very friendly, caring and accommodating. Highly recommend this office, I felt very at ease while I was there. Would go again for future dental work!

"I made a great choice. The Doctor and staff are awesome. The support and care set them apart." That was my comment 3 years ago after I got my implants. I'm still convinced I could not have found better on any measurement scale. As someone that was recognized three times by their 35 year employer for Corperate Engineering Excellence, I can be trust to provide commentary that can be trusted. If you even considering implants, then Dr. Aslam should be your choice. I personally consider him a colleague in excellence, which is the highest compliment I can bestow.

The experience from start to finish with Dr. Ashmal and the entire staff to include Danielle and Lisa (And also doctors assistant, but can’t remember how to spell her name) could not have been better. The amount of courtesy, professionalism, understanding, environment, chair-side manner, and extreme honesty was among the great things experienced. I cannot recommend or speak highly enough of this doctor, and his team. Don’t hesitate if you want the best.

Superior service! I was getting an implant and had several appointments. With each appointment I was greeted warmly with smiles. The front desk ladies were helpful and engaging. The dental assistant was kind and explained each step for each of my appointments. Dr. Aslam was gentle, engaging, explained each step he was performing and was very professional. Overall this is an outstanding practice. I highly recommend Seal Beach Dental Implants.

Dr. Aslam and his team are wonderful. I had multiple areas with gum recession and spaced out the procedures over time. Dr. Aslam was always very kind, personable, professional, and thorough. Quinn was a great surgical assistant and a very calming and comforting presence. Danielle was always very organized and friendly and assisted with any and all scheduling or billing questions. My dentist later commented about the great results from the procedures. I highly recommend the whole team here - you’ll be in great hands!
