Shams Dental Clinic - Marina

Very poor experience at Joy Dental Marina. I booked specifically for a cleaning. After waiting an hour, a dentist examined my teeth and said I needed an extraction. I was then told I'd have to come back another day for the cleaning because a consultation had already been done. The explanations didn't match. One staff member said insurance only allows one service per visit, either a consultation or a cleaning. The dentist said she simply didn't have time because of another appointment. It was impossible to know which reason to believe. My extraction was later approved by insurance, but despite following up by phone several times to schedule it, the clinic never arranged it or called me back. This clinic does not respect your time.

I’ll start with the main issue — there is a complete lack of transparency in pricing and in providing patients with their results. After my appointment and procedures, I paid for an X-ray, which alone cost 600 AED, but despite multiple requests and waiting for over a week, the X-ray was never sent to my email. I had to request my records and seek a consultation at another clinic. For comparison, another clinic provided a full printed treatment plan with clear pricing within 30 minutes, without any issues or follow-ups needed. That said, the clinic itself is clean and well-maintained, and Dr. Kristina is very understanding, attentive, and explains everything clearly. The clinic has potential, but without transparent pricing and respect for a patient’s right to receive paid medical results, the overall experience is disappointing.

I had a great experience with Dr. Andrea. She is knowledgeable, gentle, and very reassuring throughout the treatment. I truly appreciate her expertise and caring approach, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for excellent dental care. The reception team were also very welcoming, kind, and helpful, making the entire experience even better.
