Dr Shannon was always amazing and kind! I am hoping she sees this and can recommend someone as wonderful as she was now that she has retired!

I had posted a very positive review with a few details of my situation. I now feel very differently about Dr. McCarthy. I have periodontitis, plus need 2 mercury filled teeth taken out of my mouth and a root canal removed that upsets me daily being dead yet still stuck in my mouth. First, they cleaned my teeth for the periodontitis and I wondered why we were waiting to do the other work, but I figured they knew best. Now I come to discover she has retired and I am cast to the wind in a position of having to pay $500 to a new biologic dentist to be evaluated for what will ultimately be the FOURTH time! I didn't have the money to do any of this so am gonna be paying off my credit card already for the work McCarthy's hygenist did and now am faced with having to come up with more money for a problem I thought was going to be fixed in the near future. McCarthy has to know that no insurance covers her services, yet no attempt was made to try and finish my work or even refer me somewhere (I had to call back twice after finding out she retired before anyone at Amherst would point me in the right direction). I don't have thousands of dollars sitting around to keep paying for evaluations I don't need. I know what the problems are and thought finally they would be dealt with. I feel utterly betrayed and let down by this experience and both the mercury and root canal continue to leak poison into my system while I wait another 6 months for a new dentist I can't afford.

Dr. McCarthy and her staff are absolutely incredible. I would recommend ANYONE to her! I felt like I was in the best hands from start to finish. The holistic approach to dental care is the way to go! 10/10

Please don’t hesitate to book with Dr. M! She may have a long wait list but it’s worth everyday and then some. She has treated me for cavities to a poorly done root canal (not by her), and everytime I sit in her chair I am so thankful for her knowledge and wisdom. No one else I’d let near my mouth! You know what they say— “Health starts in the mouth & gut”.

As a patient with a lifelong fear of dental work, I appreciate that Dr. Shannon McCarthy understands and always makes the experience as stress-free as possible. As nervous as I am going in it's a good feeling knowing that I will be in good hands and my dental issues will be resolved as painlessly as possible. She is the best dentist I've ever had!!

Amazing biologic dentist! My husband and I have appreciated having our dentistry completed by Dr. McCarthy. She carefully and safely replaced our amalgam fillings and followed the SMART protocol to the letter. I have definitely seen an improvement in my health and I’m glad I had these things completed. Dr McCarthy is fun and caring and so knowledgeable about not only dentistry but also how the mouth and oral health relates to the rest of the body. I appreciate her gentle, thorough and upbeat demeanor. Her office is loaded with modern technology and I am certain that she really cares about providing the best biological dental treatment. Plus, there is a TV on the ceiling and I enjoy when the doctor sings along to the music!

I have been seeing Dr McCarthy over the past year to have my dental needs taken care of. Dr McCarthy is one of a kind, she always is upbeat and caring and I really appreciate that she puts me at ease with her singing!! Over the years, I have never experienced such a caring and gentle dentist. Every time I go, I know that Dr M. has the most up to date and modern treatment available. She has taken great care of my teeth and I appreciate that she follows strict protocols when replacing old silver fillings. You can feel comfortable knowing that Dr McCarthy is a truly sincere biological dentist who loves her work and her patients. Keep singing Doc!

Dr McCarthy is absolutely amazing! Her skill set is above and beyond and most importantly she is compassionate and sensitive to your emotional needs while undergoing any procedure. I have been a patient of hers for over a decade and I would not trust anyone else with my dental care… and I’m not an easy patient! ThankYou always for your kindness and expertise.

Dr. McCarthy is simply amazing! I have terrible anxiety about going to the dentist, and she is the first dentist I am relaxed with because I know when I have an issue she isn't going to hurt me! I am one of the big babies she treats and she is so understanding about anyone who has had a bad experience with a prior dentist. Her entire team goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Dr. McCarthy is so down to earth and truly just a kind person who genuinely cares about her patients. I have had a lot of dental work done by her and no issues whatsoever. I actually enjoy going to the dentist and being able to chat with her and my hygienist, Colleen! Wonderful group of people and I highly, highly recommend them!!
