About Signature Dental
Signature Dental is a dental practice on South Bascom Avenue in the Dry Creek area of Campbell, California. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.
A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.
A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns.
Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.
Professional teeth whitening uses a peroxide-based gel, applied under supervision at a strength stronger than anything sold over the counter, to lift years of staining from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. It works on natural enamel only — existing crowns, veneers, and fillings keep whatever shade they were made in. Outstanding care and staff
I have never been treated so unprofessionally by a health care provider as I was last Tuesday while having my teeth cleaned at Signature Dental. I would rate zero stars if it was possible. This office will no longer be accepting Delta Dental insurance. As I am insured by Delta Dental I asked if I could decline the X-rays they were going to perform, because if there were any issues with my teeth, I would be getting the work done at another office. I felt sure the new office would most assuredly take their own X-rays (as Signature Dental did when I joined them 3 years ago, even though my former dentist sent my records to Signature). I really didn’t want to be exposed to more X-rays than necessary. Apparently, this struck a nerve with the office manager, Jennifer. She said if I didn’t want the x-rays I would have to leave the office. She asked me repeatedly to leave the office. I said no, I had driven the whole way there and I wanted to get my teeth cleaned as I wanted to stay on my schedule of a cleaning every 4 months. At this point Jennifer conferred with Dr. Cardenas who told her I could stay if I got the X-rays. He contends this is to maintain a standard of practice (I spoke to him later on the phone.) I stayed and got the X-rays and got my teeth cleaned. My blood pressure when taken by the hygienist was 150/95 (it was 116/76 when I took it at home that morning.) Before cleaning my teeth, the hygienist apologized for the contentious interaction with the office manager. I stopped at the front counter on my way out to get my receipt (I had paid cash). At this point Jennifer engaged again. She said she is sick of “Delta” clients because all they want is their “free” cleaning, they never have any other procedures done and complain all the time. She also told me that’s why she cancelled the coverage for Delta Dental clients. She said Delta only pays the hygienists $15 for a cleaning. I informed her that in my three years at the office I had two crowns replaced. I told her what my blood pressure was when she left the hygienist’s room and she said “What about my blood pressure? It’s not all about you!” Later on Tuesday, I read Yelp reviews for Signature Dental and found that many people have had similar negative interactions with Jennifer. She is brash, rude and unprofessional. Needless to say, I will be returning to my previous dentist even though they do not accept my insurance. At that office I felt valued and that the dentist would only do work when it was necessary. I only left their office because I retired and they did not accept my new insurance.
Wonderful caring staff. I would highly recommend this dentistry.
Dr. Monica is great. She is communicative and easy to talk with. She offers advice and really cares about her patients. The staff do a great job too!
Great staff, friendly dentists. They use modern equipment, too. Dr. Cardenas can handle most procedures including some surgeries. Overall I have had good experiences so far. Recommended
My family has been coming to this practice since 1981--through Dr. Bloom and then Dr. Duarte--and we have always paid our bills on time and never had any issues with the office. It is deeply saddening that after over 40 years of loyalty, we are being forced to leave due to unethical billing practices including unnecessary procedures, and a total lack of respect for long-term patients. We began to have concerns when Dr Duarte recommended more frequent, out-of-pocket cleanings for me. When we saw a new provider for a second opinion, he confirmed that a standard six-month schedule was perfectly appropriate, confirming our suspicion that the recommendation was not clinically necessary. The breaking point was their deceptive communication: Unauthorized Charges: We requested a simple clarification regarding periodontal changes that were the reasons for the 4-month cleanings. Instead of a phone call, Jennifer insisted we come into the office to review records. We were never informed this would be a paid service; had we been told, we would have declined. We were charged $350 for simply wanting to understand what specifically had changed in July 2025 to trigger the new recommendation for a 4-month cleaning interval that was not covered by insurance and would be an out-of-pocket charge. The $350 charge was coded as "Oral Hygiene instructions" which was absolutely absurd. Records Transfer Fees: After this debacle, we decided to switch providers as we lost trust in Dr Duarte, the office tried to charge us for a records transfer to make it more difficult for us. We have since declined the transfer as our new dentist (who treats us with respect) has already performed comprehensive exams including full X-rays. Hostile Environment: When we asked legitimate questions about our care, the front office responded with indifference and contempt. All other reviews you can see on Yelp confirm that our experience was not out of ordinary, but rather business as usual at Signature Dental. It is a shame to see a once-trusted practice prioritize "upselling" and surprise fees over a four-decade relationship. If you are looking for a dental office that values honesty and patient history, stay away.
The whole experience was great. I was looking for a new dentist because mine retired. Thorough X-rays were taken. Afterwards Dr. Duarte came to measure my gums and consult about future care. Everyone was very kind and helpful.
I had my teeth cleaned and x-rays done to ensure there are no problems lurking around. Excellent care and gentleness in the complete procedure. Follow up by the dentist to ensure there were no problems with my gums or teeth. Always a pleasure to visit this outstanding team! Five star group of professionals for sure!! I highly recommend their work.
