Horrible Dentists. Don’t bother making it on time to any appointment since they make you wait either way. First they pulled out the wrong tooth that didn’t even have a cavity and told me to come back to do the fillings. I book an appointment and come in today and wait only for the Dentist to tell me that they don’t cover fillings. Which is a lie. They do cover fillings. They just don’t want to do it because OW doesn’t pay them properly for it which is understandable but why waste my time and make me book a second appointment? They knew all this from my first visit and were willing to work on my teeth but this second visit they had a change of heart and didn’t feel like helping me anymore. Thanks for wasting my time. My first visit I genuinely thought they were good people but now I know they just care about money and are willing to butcher your mouth just so they don’t have to do a filling.

"I had a great experience at this clinic. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming. A special thank you to Dr. Akbar for being so gentle and professional during my teeth cleaning. He made me feel comfortable and did an excellent job. I highly recommend him!"
I had an extraction done by Dr. Anil Tejani at Smile City in June 2024, and I’m experiencing severe and permanent complications related to the procedure. I assume it’s incumbent on dentists in general to warn or advise patients of complications regarding any procedure, pre, post, aesthetic, or otherwise. Dentists are tasked with implementing the absolute best treatment options available and informing the patient thoroughly so they can make an informed decision going forward. And failure to do so could cause serious harm and would, invariably, be considered an absence of duty. If I had known that I was at risk of suffering from permanent disfigurement, nerve damage or of losing up to 30% - 50% of jaw bone density after an extraction, I would’ve waited and delayed the procedure for further discussion. Later, I was absolutely crestfallen to learn that if there are no underlying issues, if teeth and gums are healthy, an extraction and implant procedure could be done at the same time, thereby completely eliminating the risk of density loss and bone resorption. And yet there was absolutely no mention of it. Dr. Anil Tejani could've easily referred me to another dentist. Whether he was able to do the procedure or not. This vital and life-changing information should’ve been communicated to me but was not. In fact, he really didn’t say much. He basically just pulled my tooth out with fervor, wrote me a Tylenol script and sent me on my way. Also, socket preservation (alveolar ridge preservation) is a dental procedure performed at the time of extraction to maintain bone density in the site where a tooth has been removed. An imperative and routine procedure, to ensure an optimum aesthetic result. It, also, was not employed or even discussed. Why were these options not available to me? I have since suffered permanent nerve damage and disfigurement because of the extraction. Bone loss due to extraction and lack of alveolar ridge preservation. Changes to my bite and facial structure, and I’m still having trouble speaking. My teeth have shifted and sunken greatly, lips are deformed and have lost sensation, and deep wrinkles have formed around my mouth. In an industry where patients go to great lengths and where an exorbitant amount of money is spent on restoring one’s smile. It's really important. In fact, I feel like this life-changing information was inexplicably kept from me. It's grossly irresponsible and I'm completely mystified. All of this could've totally been avoided, and Inflicted upon by a trusted health practitioner, no less. Something as seemingly routine as an extraction should have been done properly and to code. And socket preservation (alveolar ridge preservation) should’ve been employed, or discussed at the very least. I’ve suffered life-altering side effects from this. Including loss of income, severe depression, panic attacks and burgeoning agoraphobia. I’m an actor and this procedure has done irreparable harm to my appearance, career and my ability to make a living going forward. They’re all smiles at Smile City. But a danger. Stay away!
I was told to come here because it was a cheaper option since I do not have insurance. I came to do a general dental/oral exam and a few x rays. I explained to an employee wearing a black uniform that I wanted to do an exam and maybe some x rays since I've been having pain. She did a quick check with that mirror tool they use and asked if I was sure I was experiencing pain where I mentioned, and I said yes I'm sure. She went on to do 2 x rays and then sent me back to the waiting room to wait for the dentist. They called me into another room in less than a minute where the dentist told me I have a deep cavity. He then showed me my x rays and explained what my 2 options were and the cost of them. I said I'd have to consider my options since money is tight right now and then I asked if there was anything else to do, which he said there was not. Total time spent with employee in black uniform and dentist was no more than 10 minutes. I feel like a general dental/oral exam should involve some more checking of the teeth and checking the gums in depth. I don't know if it's different if you get a cleaning or whitening but I just wanted a general exam and I don't feel like that's what I got. They told me the issue with my tooth but didn't spend much time thoroughly looking through my teeth and examining my gums... It's a pretty small place and the first room I went to looked worn down and chipped on the walls like another person mentioned in the reviews.
