Normally I would wait until I’m home to write a review, but as it is I’m sitting in the chair waiting (in a positive way) for my crown. Dr. Mena is the kindest, most supportive dentist I’ve ever had. To start I’ve not been to a dentist in three years. (I know but insurance changes, past experiences and life). From the initial check up she was on my side to get me back on track. And got me an appointment within two days from that check up to get a crown. During the checkup she noticed scarring and trauma in my gums, asked me if I was ok to discuss the experience and how she can make it better. Dentistry isn’t cheap, especially when you need the work I do, she and her team worked with me to find options that work for me, find savings where we can, and set it up with payments so I didn’t have to worry. And today during the procedure she was supportive and professional the whole time, checking in, giving pauses when needed, etc. If you need a new dentist, look no further than Vancouver Smiles

Dr Mena and her staff were awesome! I'm terrified of the dentist but they went out of their way to ensure my comfort the entire time. It was a great experience, something I never expected to say about a trip to the dentist. Thank you.

I recently had to have a root canal, and while there were a few hiccups with the temporary crown staying on, my overall experience was excellent! Everyone from the front to the back of the office were friendly and professional. Dr. Andy Bui is an incredible dentist! I wish I could leave a separate review for Dr. Patrick Steidley, my endodontist, as he really made the whole experience so great! Dr. Steidley was kind, caring, and procedure was quick and painless! Although I hope I don't have to see him again professionally, if I ever need another root canal in the future, I will seek him out. I would highly recommend Dr. Steidley to anyone needing Endodontic work, and also highly recommend Vancouver Smiles Dentistry for all other dental work. Thank you!

I have always had a great experience here, but my last visit was awful. It began with the dental hygienist calling me by the wrong name in the waiting room, then when I told her my name she said, "Yeah that's you come on." Then she proceeded to power walk away leaving me behind. She had no bedside manner whatsoever and was just so brusque. I shrugged it off but then the appt just kept getting worse. I was told I was getting oral surgery that day which I was not prepared for. I waited for quite a while before someone came in and said they needed to take impressions to make a stint for recovery. They failed to communicate to the dental assistant what the stint was for so she used the basic goopy material. Well it didn't get the results they needed so she had to do it again. That didn't work either so she had someone else come in and do it AGAIN. I had to endure 3 tries to get impressions, and on the third try they had to push so hard on the roof of my mouth it was so painful and uncomfortable I almost cried. After that I waited in the chair for maybe another hour before the periodontist was ready to do the surgery. I was just sitting for so long and then I heard people talking outside my room so I looked over my shoulder and they just looked at me awkwardly and didn't say anything. They were finally ready to do the surgery so the periodontist and rude hygienist were getting things ready while another girl, maybe a student, was in and out of the room a ton. Another dentist was just kind of lingering watching. It felt so overwhelming to have so many people around, especially after the awful experience I was already having. The periodontist began with numbing ointment but failed to use enough on the roof of my mouth. She didn't check with me to see if I was numb she just went right to sticking the needles into my gums to numb them for surgery. It was painful on the bottom gums but I could handle it. The top of my mouth was not numb enough so when she stuck the needle in it hurt so bad I began to cry. Spontaneous surgery, painful x-rays, painful impressions, rude hygienist, waiting for hours, too many people all added up so the pain of the needle pushed me over the edge. They tried to calm me and wipe my tears and then the hygienist just shoved the tissue in my hand. The surgery itself was smooth, I just kept my eyes closed so I couldn't see what they were doing. The hygienist was horrible with the suction though. I still kept having to swallow and at one point she had shoved that thing directly into the back of my throat and then on my lip. If she needed me to turn my head, instead of telling me or gently moving my head she was so rough and forced my head in the right direction. During the surgery, the periodontist and hygienist were talking about the impressions I got and how they could have gotten a much better result if they had used a different material, but failed to communicate that earlier. So happy I got to endure 3 rounds of impressions because of their miscommunication. Surgery was over, and I was left alone to recover while they went to tend to other patients. I was simply wiping some mascara off my face when the hygienist walked by and said, "You're not crying again are you??" Could she be any more insensitive? I had been there for 4 hours at that point, put through a lot of pain and stress, and treated like a training dummy and this woman can't show an ounce of empathy? Thankfully before I left my usual dentist came in to check on me. She is always so gentle and kind and It was the first genuine kindness I had experienced the entire visit. I don't know if it was just the people working that day, but I have never had such an awful experience. I'll still go back, but I never want that dental hygienest ever again.

My first experience was with Chelsea & Jen. They verified my insurance and were really personable. Then I met Dr Bui, great dentist and he listened to my concerns and was so gentle as he fixed a tooth. Nadia was on it with all my x-Rays. They got me in with Dr Asgard that week for surgery and he and McKenna were a great team and they did an excellent job. Everyone in the office worked really wonderful together and I would definitely recommend them.

Let’s be honest — most of us don’t love going to the dentist. Often it can feel uncomfortable, rushed, or like you’re being handed a surprise bill at the end of the visit. But this office is truly one of the best dental experiences I’ve had in my life. I ended up needing both a crown and a partial crown, and the fact that Dr. Bui was able to complete both in the same day is almost unheard of. No temporary crowns, no follow-up appointments — just efficient, high-quality care all in one visit. Dr. Bui and the assistant, Yuliya, made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Even the numbing injection — which has hurt for me in the past — was completely painless. This team not only listens to your concerns, they genuinely prioritize your overall oral health. If you’re looking for a quick, rushed appointment with minimal attention to detail, this isn’t the place for you. But if you want a practice that takes the time to ensure everything looks natural, feels right, is built to last — and can even be completed the same day — then this is absolutely the place to go.if you want quality work and done right then give it the time it needs to do so. This team does it at the highest level. Plain and simple.

I am extremely impressed with Vancouver Smiles Dentistry. Every time I take my disabled husband there we are greated with friendly smiles and an upbeat attitude. The staff is always cheerful and willing to help. Chelsea and Jenn are both extremely courteous and very helpful. Jenn who is the one that usually checks us out always makes sure we understand everything to the fullest and never have a problem answering our questions or checking on something for us. She has gone way above and beyond being a receptionist, she makes us feel likes she really cares and because of that we will keep coming back. 😊 Thank you Jenn. Betty & Clarence Hanna

This clinic was a complete waste of my time, and I strongly believe they tried to pressure me into expensive treatments I did not need. I came in for a simple routine cleaning. Instead, they immediately insisted on X-rays and extra exams before doing anything. After the exam, they told me I supposedly needed around $11,000 worth of dental work. I have a medical background, so I know when something is seriously wrong — and their claims made no sense. They refused to do a normal cleaning and tried to convince me that my gums were in “very bad condition,” even though I brush twice a day and have never had issues. They pushed a deep cleaning that costs four times more than a regular cleaning. This felt like pure upselling and fear tactics. I went to another dentist for a second opinion, and guess what? They told me my oral health was fine and did a regular cleaning with no problems at all. On top of that, Vancouver Smiles Dentistry made it extremely difficult to get my own X-rays. I waited days, called multiple times, and they still sent only one image. They told me to come with a USB drive, and even then they didn’t give me the rest of my files. Completely unprofessional. This clinic tried to scare me, wasted my time, and made me feel like their goal was to sell unnecessary treatments, not to help patients. I will never return and do not recommend this place to anyone.
