I really appreciate that they focus on biocompatible dentistry & offer metal-free crowns & safe replacement of old silver (amalgam) fillings. It gave me peace of mind knowing they prioritize materials that support both oral & overall health. I highly recommend this office!

I had such a great experience at this holistic dental office. From the moment I walked in, the front office staff was warm, welcoming, and made the entire visit easy and stress free. I really appreciate that they take a whole body approach to dental care. They use ozone therapy, prioritize non-toxic dental materials, and even offer detox support with supplements like chlorella and zeolite, which gave me extra confidence in my treatment. The hygienist was gentle, thorough, and took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. I’ve been going to Smile Haven Dentistry since 2007, and even in 2026, I continue to choose them for all of my dental and orthodontic care. Over the years, they’ve consistently provided outstanding service, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. The entire staff is amazing—everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and always willing to answer any questions I have. They truly make every visit a positive one. A special thank you to the hygienist who cleans my teeth. She is incredibly gentle, thorough, and always makes me feel comfortable during my cleanings. I genuinely appreciate the care she puts into every appointment. I also had my braces done with their orthodontist, and the experience was just as wonderful. Even after completing my treatment, I continue to come back for my yearly orthodontic checkups. The orthodontic team has always been professional, caring, and attentive throughout the entire process. Mary was the best!! She is so sweet and easy to talk to. The cleaning was quick but Dr. Chan did a good job and was very kind.

The first time I visited Smile, Haven with Dr Chan I was given a diagnosis of periodontal disease worse than gingivitis. He scheduled an appointment for the following week and broke down the plan with the timing and the finances. It was going to cost $2000 to do the scaling on all four quadrants. Something didn’t seem right. I had two other appointments with two different Dentist. One a periodontist. As it turns out, I don’t have gum disease, not even the beginning of Gum disease. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with me.. I think it’s unconscionable how this dentist Dr Chan Could you give me a Diagnosis of a serious problem that I never existed, I want to charge me $2000! Beware of this charlatan…

had cavity fillings done here, but one broke just a year later during a cleaning. I switched dentists and found out that two more fillings had cracked and needed replacement. On top of that, another filling broke off while I was getting the cracked ones redone. I would not recommend getting cavity fillings here. they don’t last, and you’ll likely spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars having to redo them. Plus, insurance tends to cover less if replacements occur within five years. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Dr Chan has a strange policy of no parents allowed in the room with their children. I hesitantly allowed my kids to go back without me. The whole experience was weird. They split our appointments up so that the first was only to have X-rays done, the next would be the exam and the third would be the cleaning. That wasn’t explained to me until we were 2hrs in to our first appointment and nothing, but X-rays had been done. When we got in to the office for the second appointment, my daughter started to get frantic, begging me not to send her back alone. She said they hurt her and she was afraid of them. I talked with the front desk, they agreed to let me go back and so I did. When Chans assistant came in, she was enraged. She started yelling at me telling me to get out and that I can’t coddle my children their whole lives. I ask her to stop yelling in front of my daughter and to send the doctor in. The doctor tells me that is just how she is and that Americans are so sensitive and so weak. As we were leaving some of the staff were watching us with sympathy. A few of them came up to say that it’s not uncommon for that to happen and that it even happens to them. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Wanting to also add on that this doctor billed for full exams, including cleanings and other procedures that never happened.

My first time going to this dentist and frankly it's been a long time. I do love going to the dentist, never had a bad experience. But this team here, they were awesome!! They were thorough in the procedures I needed done (remember it's been awhile), the staff had great personalities and Dr. Chan took my insurance into consideration. When filling out the initial forms I noticed they were different than most dental offices. They take a holistic approach, everything is connected. I highly recommend Dr. Chan and his team.
