About SmileMakers Montgomery
Tucked along Eastchase Parkway in east Montgomery, SmileMakers is the kind of practice you can settle into for the long haul rather than bounce between specialists. It covers the everyday foundations of oral health, dental cleanings, fillings, and treatment for tooth decay and gum disease, while also keeping more involved work in-house, so a checkup and a complex restoration don't mean two different addresses.
The restorative and surgical range here is unusually broad for a general office. Patients facing missing teeth can pursue dental implants, bridges, crowns, or dentures, with bone grafting available to rebuild the foundation when the jaw needs it first. Root canal therapy and endodontic care address infected or aching teeth, and prosthetic dentistry ties the rebuilding work together when several teeth are involved at once.
On the cosmetic and orthodontic side, the team offers teeth whitening, dental bonding, veneers, and Invisalign for those who want to straighten or refresh a smile without committing to a wholly separate practice. There's also attention to issues that sit at the edge of dentistry, TMJ and TMD treatment, custom mouth guards, and sleep apnea care, which makes the office a sensible stop for jaw pain, nighttime grinding, or disrupted sleep.
Families are clearly part of the picture, with pediatric dentistry for younger patients and an emphasis on affordable, comprehensive care for households juggling different needs and ages. For people who feel uneasy in the chair, sedation dentistry is on offer to make longer or more involved appointments easier to get through. The breadth matters in practice: a patient who comes in for a routine cleaning might later need a crown, then a few years on consider Invisalign or an implant, and at each turn the same office already knows their history and can carry the next step forward. That continuity is hard to replicate when care is split across separate specialists scattered around the city, and it tends to make people more willing to follow through on the treatment they actually need.
Taken together, SmileMakers suits Montgomery residents who would rather build a relationship with one team that can grow with them, handling routine maintenance, restorative needs, cosmetic touch-ups, and the occasional bigger procedure across the years.
Off Eastchase Parkway in Montgomery, SmileMakers handles nearly the full arc of dentistry under one roof, from cleanings and fillings to implants, Invisalign, and sedation-supported care. Veneers, dentures, root canals, and pediatric visits round out a practice built for whole-family, multi-need treatment.

Services fine but way too much chatter. Interrupting service.
I have been a patient of smile makers for over 20 years. My husband started going there shortly after we met so probably almost 10 years at this point. We have always seen Dr. Barganier or Dr. Fry prior to his retirement. I had always had a good experience with their office until now. My husband had his teeth cleaned in February. Dr. Barganier told him he had some cavities that he'd been watching that he should try and get filled soon. We started calling in April to make an appointment to have the fillings done. There were at least 5 appointments made that were either changed the day before or the morning of, either cancelled all together, or attempted to be made with another dentist in the practice. We expressed frustration many times, even speaking with the office manager about the issues, and telling them many times that we did not want to see another dentist. Two weeks ago, he took off work and went in for his scheduled appointment after I told them on the phone not to make another one if it wasn't going to be with Dr. Barganier. They called him a few hours later and scheduled an appointment for which we assumed would be with the dentist we specifically wanted to see. He showed up to the appointment to be informed that another dentist was doing the work. He refused and left the appointment but was made yet another appointment and assured it'd be with Dr. Barganier. He called today for his appointment tomorrow to verify that he still had the appointment and was informed that Dr. Barganier was wanting another dentist to do the work. They apparently are trying to force other dentists on patients against their requests in order to get these newer dentists work. This is essentially socialized medicine, without government involvement, and we will not be taking part in this. It's sad that their practice is so determined to ensure patient's have no say in their own care that they're going to lose long-term patients in doing so. We have transferred our care elsewhere and will not be back. Things have really gone downhill with this practice. I would not recommend to anyone.
Absolutely love these doctors! This place is so good at what they do that your visit will be of a memorable and welcoming visit. They take their work seriously and mean business and will take your smile and make it one that you will want to keep! 🤗🥰
Appointment but never catch on time
Should change name to time wasters. Avoid this place at all costs! I saw them a few years ago. They said they were making my appointment. They were gone 30 minutes and had been getting me a referral to the oral surgeon I did not need or want. I struck out with another dentist, so I tried them in February of this year. They said they could pull this tooth. They refused to pull it at my appointment in March due to blood pressure. The doctor never looked at the tooth while I was waiting to assess if he could even do it. When I went in February, a tech took X-rays and assessed, but no doctor actually laid eyes on me. It is Wednesday afternoon, my appointment is finally on Monday and they call me today to say they need to refer me out. I've been dealing with their nonsense for TWO MONTHS. I could have had this tooth out by now. But, I was hoping to avoid anesthesia and the additional cost of oral surgery. I already have an oral surgery consult from another dentist. I made the appointment just in case they wouldn't pull this tooth. I'm glad I kept it. If anyone ever asks me about this place, I'll say to avoid at all costs. They are completely unprofessional and incompetent. Had they said the first day, we can't pull it or the doctor assessed the tooth and refused due to condition, that would be fine. But, I've been waiting for 2 months to get this tooth out when I could've already had the work performed by the oral surgeon. I don't know how this place has such high ratings. I've had 2 horrendous experiences.
I have been a patient at this location for several years now and usually have positive experiences during my visits. Unfortunately, my appointment today was disappointing due to the interaction I had with the hygienist who assisted me. Throughout the visit, several comments were made in a sarcastic tone when I answered questions, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Additionally, the hygienist repeatedly offered unsolicited opinions about aspects of my personal life that were unrelated to my dental care. This was unexpected and made the experience very uncomfortable. Prior to the dentist entering the room, I also received what came across as backhanded compliments, which further contributed to an overall unwelcoming and judgmental atmosphere. As a patient, I expect to feel comfortable during my appointment, and unfortunately that was not the case during this visit. I have also noticed during multiple visits that there appears to be frequent turnover among staff members. Since I come in for cleanings regularly and tend to remember the individuals who assist me, this has become noticeable. I want to be clear that Dr. Barganier has always been professional, attentive and excellent during every appointment I have had with him, and I would still highly recommend him. However, the hygienist I encountered today would benefit from improved professionalism and better chairside manners. To try and pass off sarcastic remarks and unsolicited advice about someone’s personal life at a dentist appointment is not acceptable.
I've been going to SmileMakers for about 2 years now and I love them! Every time I'm there for my appointments their staff is welcoming and uplifting. Recently, I had an extraction of my premolars with Dr. Nitha. She and her assistant made the whole procedure a calm and down to earth experience. I went in today for a cleaning and my RdH Michelle was super kind and fun to be around! Additionally, I enjoy the checking out process with the receptionist as she is also very kind and professional. I highly recommend SmileMakers!!
Omg.... If you want the best dental experience here ask for Ms. SHAY. She is the best hands down. It was one of the most calming, relaxing experience i have had in a long time. I can not thank her enough she is awesome .
My experience started 12/30 for crowns. What should have been up to 2 weeks to complete is now going into 6+ weeks of worsening concerns, delays & issues. My temporary teeth have open margins and look terrible. Having them placed was a terrible painful experience— what should have taken 60-90 mins— took 4 hours because errors were made. They took 3 weeks to get me back in. Never checked nor looked at teeth they received from the lab. Teeth rec’d from lab on 1/19 were visibly too short, not what we discussed —I showed pictures and was very detailed with my expectations and they came with a gap!! Now it’s NO accountability it’s all being blamed on the lab… Today they called last min and cancelled my appt Monday, again— still no teeth. Claimed they could not track or give me the name of lab. No real resolutions are being provided besides sit back and wait. No prioritization that my case will be over a month past original anticipated completion and they see no urgency to get me re-scheduled, I had to ask for another appt!! No empathy or anything remotely close to an apology. Just an expectation when I’ve paid thousands of dollars for me to wait and pray for the best. Very disappointing experience so far. I had a beautiful smile prior to this. Now I am waiting in limbo praying for the best. I will provide an update and review once completed.
My hygienist was Bre and she did an awesome job! Dr. Bargainer is always friendly and thorough.
I was told by Aspen Dental I needed 5 root canals and 3 teeth pulled. Estimated price 10k+ with insurance. I have extreme anxiety with the dentist and a little discouraged after that visit. I finally decided to get a second opinion a year later at SmileMakers. I called and made an appointment through the AI scheduler. Today I walked in for my appointment to an absolute spotless office. Everyone had a smile on their face. I was greeted. Unfortunately the AI scheduler did not schedule the appointment. I was fine with making another time/date. The sweet caring worker at the front was adamant that she was going to get me in today. I explained that accidents happen and AI messes up sometimes and I completely understood if they could not work me in. She made sure to work me anyways. I was called to the back by another sweet and caring person. They did many xrays and listened to my concerns. I have not been to a dentist in 10 years. I was fully expecting them to give me worse news. I told them what I had been told at Aspen and very embarrassed of my smile. After seeing the xrays I was told it didnt look as bad as I thought but the doctor is about to come in to look. I waited maybe 5 minutes and the doctor walked in. I was told I only needed a good cleaning and 2 teeth pulled and a filling. The dentist was so compassionate and professional. I have already called so many people to recommend them and to tell how great they were to me. I am so excited to get these teeth fixed and straightened. Im so thankful for them.
The dentist office has always been one of my least favorite places, because whenever I go in to have dental work done, I'm naturally nervous. However, Dr. Jon Bargainer and his team are friendly, polite, kind and understanding. They're proficient in what they do and are always able to put my mind at ease and help me relax. I've been a patient of Smilemakers for over 25 years and have had routine cleanings, tooth extractions and other dental work done. In all these years I've never had an unpleasant experience. So, I highly recommend Smilemakers to anyone looking for a place to go for dental care.
