Dr. Nick is the best dentist I've ever had work on my teeth.
I've been Dr. Nick's patient for several years, and no matter what dental issue I've had, he's always fixed it. This past long weekend I had an emergency infection, and despite it being a holiday, Dr. Nick returned my voicemail within a couple of hours, prescribed antibiotics, and scheduled me for a follow-up right away. I'm so grateful. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. Fantastic, professional practice that runs efficiently — and all the staff are wonderful and make you feel comfortable. The office itself is clean, modern, and welcoming.
Incredible staff, you're literally in good hands when you're there. Bonus points to Dr Nick for saving me from lockjaw with a quick fix like magic.
They saw me last minute for a tooth emergency. From the receptionist to the hygienist to the doctor, I felt comfortable and listened to. They really took their time to answer all my questions. I was in and out. Really fantastic practice.
I've had several issues with this practice over the last 2-3 years since I've been a patient, and today was the last straw. Today, they asked to reschedule an appointment that they confirmed last week. I had to take time off work to make it work. This morning they asked to reschedule, and I said I cannot. They then informed me I can keep my appointment, but I had already told my work I can come in that day. So, they confirmed the appointment, then they asked to reschedule, and then they said they can keep the original appointment. Absolute nightmare. Previously, I've had several issues. The biggest being that two doctors that worked on my teeth contradicted each other. One said I don't need a crown and wait. Next time, I believe it was Dr. Nik, said I should've gotten a crown, pushing an expensive service. You cannot trust these people to be professional or honest. Dr. Nik seems like he wants to make money and will tell you that you NEED a service that you clearly don't so he can make a quick buck.
Great dentists and technicians. The appointments are almost always handled super well from the “friendly and welcoming” receptionists to cleaning and check-up, so I hope they keep up the good work in this department! 🥲I sometimes hear conflicting advice like taking off a retainer vs keeping it on, electric toothbrushes are okay vs not, so I guess this is a matter of opinion. However, stellar patient care, teamwork and communication for a VERY busy dental office.
I had a filling done by Dr. Shoji and had a positive experience. From the moment I sat down, he made me feel comfortable. He explained each step of the procedure as he went, consistently checked in to make sure I was doing okay, and took the time to answer all of my questions at the end. His calm, kind demeanor helped ease any anxiety I had, and the entire experience was much easier than I expected. I was also impressed by the respect and courtesy he showed to both patients and staff. I highly recommend Dr. Shoji and the team.
I've had a great experience with this office and am only leaving because I'm moving out of state. Dr. Nikhil and Dr. Shoji are both excellent and the staff is consistently friendly, efficient, and helpful. Appointments are smooth, questions are always answered clearly, and I never felt like I was being upsold. They also made the transition to a new dentist incredibly easy by sending over my records and x-rays quickly and free of charge. Highly recommend Somerville Family Dental!
We had a great experience experience at this dental office. I went with my two kids, and everything went so smoothly from start to finish. The did our cleanings and exams, and the care was excellent. Dr. Nick was extremely knowledgeable, patient and took the time to explain everything clearly without making us feel rushed. Our hygienist Tsering was absolutely wonderful with my kids - so gentle, calm and encouraging. She made them feel completely at ease, they both left feeling The office is clean and welcoming. Highly recommend!
