Soothing Dental

Wonderful care that talked through my options. The space is appropriately named. I’m grateful for the detailed explanations of what my care plan would look like.

Doctor was fine but front desk experience was miserable. Applied a random charge on me with no explanation of what it was, and I figured out later that it was for a panoramic xray procedure they never administered and had to get a refund. Tried to cancel a hygiene appointment and got told I’d need to pay a cancellation fee through some portal. Did not even let me contest the fee for cancellation, after some time they automatically charged it and gave no written confirmation of what happened.

EDIT: Dr. Saeidi did not even tell me that I had an infection during the appointment. She just told me it “looked really bad” and that I “would die” if I did not get it treated “soon enough.” (Not exactly soothing, as their name implies.) She laughed at me for being scared of the procedure and scolded me for not getting it done sooner, despite me being very clear about my disability. She also sent me a private text in response to this review that was much more passive aggressive than this public response. I struggle to see how this behavior is not judgmental and unprofessional. If you have any dental anxiety at all, do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT go here. The judgement and fear mongering are out of this world. Despite immediately telling the dentist about my intense dental anxiety stemming from severe mental health conditions, it felt like she made an intentional effort to scare and scold me for needing a procedure. There *must* be a way to explain the severity of a medical issue without criticizing and (literally) smirking at your disabled patient, and this dentist would highly benefit from such training. She also put her hand on my upper leg, without my permission, before leaving the room. (??) Leaving two stars instead of one only for the professional and compassionate front desk/X-ray staff who fit me in right away.

During my first visit, I received X-rays and a comprehensive dental treatment plan. The dentist was highly competent and compassionate -she worked with me to find a practical solution that fit my budget while still addressing my key needs.

Dr. Saeidi and her staff were so wonderful!!! My son had a dental emergency while we were in San Francisco for a few days. They fit him in so quickly and did an exam right away. Dr. Saeidi is very skilled talking to teens and explaining things. She has a great sense of humor and is so knowledgeable! Thank you!!!

It was a positive experience. I appreciated Dr. Saeidi’s prompt coordination with specialists to clarify the diagnosis and treatment plan. She explained the procedure, risks and benefits and answered my questions thoroughly. The procedure was quick and my comfort was monitored and addressed. The after care instructions were explained in detail and she saw me for follow-up after the procedure to adjust my night guard and check for healing. The front desk staff was very responsive to my questions and appointment requests. I appreciated the help and care that I received.

I was very happy with my experience from walking in to checking out. The receptionist is so sweet and was great at helping me with my estimate. Dr. Shereef Elkhatib was really nice and explained all my options. He was great at making me feel comfortable as he could tell I was nervous about my filling. His dental assistant Naomi was really nice and friendly and was great at easing my nervous. No one really loves the dentist but this crew made a scary situation more calm.

Was referred to this practice by a friend and have been very satisfied with the level of care and professionalism from the staff. The dentists have been more than willing to take the time to answer my questions about treatments and are clearly skilled in their trade—my 3 filling appointments with them were extensive and performed efficiently without undue pain. Highly recommend if searching for a new dentist in San Francisco.

Soothing Dental is outstanding from start to finish. Their new-patient questionnaire is impressively thorough and thoughtful, which made me feel truly listened to before I even sat in the chair. The entire team is professional, kind, and clearly committed to high-quality care, taking time to explain each step and answer questions without ever making me feel rushed. I left feeling confident in my treatment plan and very well cared for, and I would highly recommend Soothing Dental to anyone looking for a dentist who genuinely puts patients first.

I always look forward to my appointments at Soothing Dental. The office is beautiful, nice fung shui, and the views are spectacular. Objectively, the office has done a consistently solid job with keeping my teeth clean and oral health in-check. However, the best part is the people here. Nancy always starts things off with warm and welcoming energy and Stella makes me feel like family.

Excellent communication and service with front desk as brand new patient (shout out Nancy and Melissa). Above and beyond proactively helping me understand my new dental benefits covered by my employer. Dr. Saeidi was patient, informative and curious. Beautiful building and office. Extensive menu of ‘Comfort Features’ to help reduce impact of dental work. Thoughtful accessible bathroom in terms of size, function, location and condition.
