About Sorgen Dentistry

Sorgen Dentistry operates on North Classen Boulevard in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Sorgen Dentistry located in Oklahoma City?
Sorgen Dentistry is on North Classen Boulevard in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (73116).
What days is Sorgen Dentistry open?
Sorgen Dentistry is open Monday through Thursday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Sorgen Dentistry offer?
Listed services at Sorgen Dentistry include Holistic Dentistry. The full list is shown on this page.
Are holistic dentists still trained in regular dentistry?
Yes. A holistic practice is a licensed dental practice that has chosen a particular philosophy around materials and conservative treatment — it is not a separate qualification, and standard diagnosis and treatment still apply.
Do holistic dentists use fillings without mercury?
Practices describing themselves this way typically favour tooth-coloured composite and ceramic materials over amalgam. If material choice is your reason for choosing a practice, it is worth confirming directly what they use.
What happens during a routine dental examination?
The dentist checks the teeth for decay, examines the gums, looks at any existing fillings and crowns, and screens the soft tissues. X-rays are taken when there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth.

UPDATE: 6.25.26 - I just had a risky molar tooth extraction that had a root canal & crown with a fracture - i kept putting it off due to some risks but the tooth broke off at the gum line & i had no choice then - all my fears & anxiety where for nothing - everything worked out for the good with no pain after the extraction or during - Dr Sorgen was so good about the whole situation & a lot of prayers went up before the extraction - I was so very thankful to God for the outcome & also to Dr Sorgen as I am sure he was too that our prayers were answered with no anticipated issues. He does so care about/for his patients - been going for about 4 years now & recommend him highly & so thankful to have found him. Well I am finally finished with my dental work for the year 2023 - 5 crowns & 1 root canal later: I have had several root canals in my 70 years & this one performed by my dentist Bryan Sorgen was the easiest with no pain that I have ever had/experienced. I am so pleased with all the dental work he did for me this year & plan on keeping him as my dentist & also because he takes my insurance which was fantastic. They are so nice & personable & gentle & kind - could not ask for better. I will & have recommended Bryan & his staff many times. They are all so appreciated by me & others. Don't hesitate to give them a call & make an appointment if you need a fantastic dentist. The office is so nice & clean & easy to get to also. I had a very good first consultation with the dentist/Bryan Sorgen & my first appointment is next week to get some much needed dental work done & thank God he takes my insurances - it is very hard to find good reliable dentists that we can trust & is also in network with our insurances - his office is very accessible & easy to find & his staff is very professional & nice as he is also - I will follow up when all my work is done & hopefully it will be a glowing review - THANK YOU SORGEN DENTISTRY FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US - check him out he may be in network with your insurance too!!! - I am not & will not be paid for this review except with kindness respect & excellent dental work. 💝

I was very happy with my experience here! I was a new patient and they made me feel very comfortable and everyone was friendly. They came up with a treatment plan that we both felt comfortable with and walked me through the whole process. I also loved all the education my hygienist provided on things I should be doing at home. Looking forward to my next appointment!

I am a new patient at Sorgen Dentistry. I am a former patient of a chain dental company. I was impressed with the warm personal welcome by all personnel. I knew that I was dealing with seasoned professionals, from the front desk clerk, to the dental assistant and Dr Sorgen was the epitome of an honest man. He's a straight shooter, with excellent bedside manner. I highly recommend Sorgen Dentistry if you're like me, and prefer an excellent dental office over trains!
